Early, while your here, perhaps you could answer me a question?

Does the phandroid app use less data than a browser?

I'm honestly not sure.

I know that almost all of our browsers use WebKit and that's famous for core leaking, so you do have to restart those from time to time. (Boat Browser and its Mini have been my favorites.)

I do know that when I get a few Tapatalk apps going, things slow down and if I open a few browsers besides that, it won't be long before I have to restart.

But the Phandroid app was made from its very own code base, so - not sure... but I _think_ so.

I know opera mini compresses data so it uses less, and it's quicker, but less functional

Educated guess here. I would imagine the app uses less data as it won't be serving up a large of banners as plus java enabled menus as the mobile web site. A lot of that (especially the menus) would be handled at the app level. It may be worth asking the devs to allow you to turn off the disqus for folks on limited data plans as they allow for the ads. You are a gold member so I would certainly understand you opting out of ads. I am luck in that I still have unlimited data, so even though I am gold, I leave the ads on to further support the site.

That makes sence.

I'm on unlimited data, but it's still tied to the fair use policy.

Not core - data.

Yeap, the apps all use much less data.
