That's actually a very good point. I bet most would turn it on n think,
apple have really improved the UI on this release, oh and it does this, and this, and this, and this (so on and so forth) until they try and sync it with itunes and realise they just fell in love with an Android device :rofl:

Answer this for me : for a phone to be considered real 4G, does it not have to have the radio in it ? Or it is just the speeds that make it 4G ?

Erm. Ok, take into consideration that 4G is NOT yet live in the UK. So my knowledge is limited.
We have hspa and hsdpa, and they run faster than 3G but not quite 4G speeds.
4G phones have to be specifically tuned to the country's 4G band (presumably the radio)
T-mobile UK are testing 4G in places like London I believe, but other than that, I'm not much use on the subject. So I assume, to be proper 4G the phones radio has to be compatible and set up to use the right frequency.

Ok..thanks. B/c after the most recent iOS update, iPhones signal was stating it was 4G . Was just curious b/c they don't have a 4G radio in them .

Ah, they might just be notifying the user that they are in a 4G area, the phone itself might not actually be able to utilise it though.
Just because G or H comes up on my phone, if I used droid wall (a firewall for all you security conscious rooted users) and set it to block ALL data traffic, I still get told by the cell broadcast tower than I'm in a G or H area.
Maybe that's the case for the iphoney?

Possibly, Iirc its free but needs root, check it out.
Let's you set app by app what can access the net, white/black list and has a widget to turn it on or off.
Meaning you could have stock settings for all apps, then tap the widget to block all (or selected apps) or you could have a split level access, so limit 20 apps to use Internet, then tap the widget to allow 40 (or indeed all or none) access.

Basically, yes. 4G was always 3G plus a little, hence sprints dive into that arena 2 years ago with WiMax.
Dislike the confusion between 4G and 4G LTE myself. Radically different beasts.

I was under the impression from an article that samsung own patents for about 10% of 4G LTE tech. Thus is Apple used said tech (based on samsung tech only) samsung can sue as Apple have not paid for a licence and WiMax was an alternative, made by someone else so apple could just use that company's tech as oppose to Samsung's for their 4G LTE needs?
