Help Galaxy S3 youtube loading speed problem

Ive had my s3 for a year now. I'm running OS 4.1.2. My phones overall speed and performance has never been an issue and I have been pleased with it but for as long as I can remeber I've had trouble loading yt videos in HD on wifi. I know my actual wifi isn't an issue. A few days ago I reset my phone back to factory settings and it worked for a day or two. Now its back to loading every 5-10 seconds and its infuriating me. Anybody know a cause and a solution to this? For the money I spend on this phone I should be able to watch any youtube video in full HD ESPECIALLY on wifi!!!!!. Even when I'm the only one using the wifi its still an issue. For my xbox and my computer my wifi works flawlessly. PLEASE HELP BEFORE I THROW MY PHONE INTO THE NEXT GALAXY!!!!!!!

Set up pre-loading in YT settings mate.
Not sure what the problem is though. Download the Speedtest.net app and test your wifi speed to the phone

Hi dudeimsean ...

Welcome aboard. Hold up on throwing away your phone _ hopefully you might be able to get a solution here on the forum.

You said that the phone plays nicely after doing a "reset", right? So, there might be a problem with an installed application. Do another reset -- and do not installed any applications -- meaning the ones you have installed from the Google Play Store.

Have you tried playing a video using 3G/4G network? Keep in mind that YouTube videos are highly intensive ..and requires a strong internet connection to play a video without constant buffering.

From what you're saying, it seems to be a poor internet connection that might be causing this problem. Have you ever tried connection on a different wireless network, if no..please do just to see what happen.

Best luck. :)

Sounds like it may be a cache issue so before trying the excellent suggestions above, you might want to try clearing the cache.

Alternatively, you could just be short of internal storage: see if things improve if you clear some space - a 5 minute HD video would need well over a 100MB of free space to fully cache.

Phones need quite a bit of free space to work properly anyway: my Nexus 4 complains if I have less than around 1GB free then warns that things will stop working altogether if I have less than around 300MB free.

I just checked my internet speed and both direct connection to my modem and on wifi through my router im running 25mbps DL speed and 3mbps UPL speed. I just did some quick googleing and it seems that this is a very decent internet speed. Like I said my xbox live and my computer which I am currently using work without a hitch. Although the strange thing is I DO load HD YT videos no issue when on 4G LTE rather than wifi?!?! Im not sure why that is. Since my phone reset I have only downloaded 3 apps (Instagram, Pandora, and My banking app). I havent tried the cache solution so ill see how that works as of right now i have 11.06gb of free space on the internal storage ( Its a 16gb Version) and I have 3.68gb of free space on my external SD card ( its a 4gb SD card) 538MB out of 540MB cloud storage and im running 760MB of free ram (834MB used). I was able to get all this info but what I can't do is translate it into useful Info. So according to all these stats what could be my problem when trying to buffer youtube videos specifically in HD. I can watch just about any video regardless of length in standard definition wifi or 4G LTE.

Sorry about the excessiveness. Its just a pet peeve I have with my phone. Otherwise the phone and the operating system work great!

As I said in my reply I should have plenty of internal storage. I just downloaded a cache cleaner widget and used it. I loaded a 7 minute HD YT video with no buffering! The loading bar was roughly half an inch in front of the play bar for the whole video. Im going to wait a few days and give it a couple dozen youtube videos before I call it fixed but It seemed to work! Ill check in in a few days about it.
