Hi. I'm hoping someone can help me with a rather complex issue.
I'll start by saying that I've had my S4 Cat-A for about 6 months now. About halfway through April I began to experience the following problems. I have looked everywhere online for anyone experiencing the same symptoms but I can't find a thing.
The first symptom was no animations between minimizing and opening apps. I fixed this by enabling developer options to find that "transition animation scale" had for some reason disabled itself. At first I didn't think much of it. But about two weeks later it disabled itself again. I then re-enabled it again thinking that if it was a persistant issue it wouldn't be the end of the world to keep sorting re-enabling this option.
A few days later I started having problems turning off the phone. One night I went to sleep and turned over before my phone had turned off completely. I woke up the next morning to the phone hot to the touch sitting on the "Samsung" logo spinning as if it was still trying to boot off. I took the battery out put it back in and turned on the phone. The next symptom was the headphone jack. One day I went to plug my headphones in and no sound came out. This problem was solved by taking the headphones out and pushing them back in consecutively until sound was outputted.
Since then I became sick and tired of the issues and took my phone to Vodafone AU to get the phone replaced. Unfortunately their policy states that they will only give you a refurbished device unless problems persist 3 times over. So a week after using a borrowed iPhone 3GS (a truly horrifying experience) I got a refurbished device back. Only about 2 and a half weeks later I have started experiencing identical issues again. This puzzles me because if anything was to go wrong. I'd expect it in a different form due to receiving (what I'd hope to be a different device) but the symptoms were the same. No animations, headphone jack problems and powering off problems.
I hope someone can shed some light on this issue and if there is anyone else who has had these problems as I don't want to wait a month before they give me an alternative handset as I do love my phone. Current phone specs are below in a separate post due to spam filter.
Thanks in advance
