Hi,

I have Samsung galaxy s4 mini i9195 and I tested some formats and stuff using the existing Apps for playing them. MKV and AVI play but have no sound. Here comes the problem, while MP4 works fine since it uses MP3 codec, the MKV from what I saw on the PC - it uses AC3 for audio codec, the AVI I have even personal records use MS ADPCM (or IMA ADPCM) for audio codec.

I don't want to convert every single avi or mkv I use in the future.. especially since vids may all come in different conversions. Is there some codec pack that can read the AC3, MS ADPCM/IMA ADPCM like the way you install a codec pack like ffdshow on a PC to play various codecs.

It could be a codec pack or a player that supports them?

Ok I downloaded a copy, until I go to a place to dl it from Google with a wifi. Version is 1.7.21 but when I played with it, both mkv and the avi still wouldn't play sound. MP3 and OGG sound files play but the vids still don't.

Wait, I played with the Settings and Settings>Decoder I ticked S/W decoder (local) for using the local files and the movies did play sound! Thanks for the help!

But strangely all I play with this player (video or sound files) gets interrupted after several seconds or 1 minute, doesn't continue further, is it in the player or?

I installed some other version including the ARMv7 NEON and that version did not randomly stop any videos after 20-30 seconds and works fine! I am not sure if I should go for uninstall and the regular install from Google once I get to a wifi but thanks for the link, yes it was VERY important that I am able to play the videos I watch without converting them.
