Help Galaxy S4 (Verizon) 4.4.2 rebooting issue

My Samsung gs4 freezes for a few seconds then reboots on its own at least 8 times a day. Sometimes when it freezes It will have black bars at the top and bottom of the screen then reboot. I've been to the Samsung store and they flashed the phone for me and it still continues. Anyone have any ideas what will cause this?

Hello there smwilkin61:)

I've moved your thread into your device forum so others with it can help out;)

When you say that the store "flashed" your device, what do you mean? Did they factory reset it? I would surmise you are not rooted correct?

Not yet, this is a. Referb Verizon sent me. They put 4.4.2 on it but no reformat I assume they just reinstalled a fresh and most up to date software they had

Same with Sprint refurbs. Have gotten several replacements of the original refurb - all randomly lock up requiring reboot. Sometimes the black bars. The original phone did not have the OS update but all of the refurbs have been on the latest OS.

One screen freeze too many - GS 4 gone. Bought a second HTC ONE M8.

Seems that neither the carrier nor Samsung know what the problem was, kept replacing with refurbished units.

Hopefully they will find a solution to the problem/question and spare others with the problem the angst, inconveniences and expenses we have endured.
