Galaxy S6 or HTC One M9?

If there's any validity to the tweakers review, the M9 is barely better than the Nexus 5 battery. Which is shocking since the M9 has a full HD screen with a larger battery then the M8 (or the S6 for that matter).

Not sure why anyone would pay an ounce of attention to a battery review on software that is over a month from being final.

Looks like the battery is what it is (which is a step back from the M8 and behind the S6). Do miracles happen with software updates? Rarely. Battery life might increase somewhat with tweaks, but it won't magically double.

Actually, they were taken away for very good reasons.

That's all in the eye of the beholder. I was all set on going with the S6 until this information came out. I've had battery problems with my existing DNA (first time I've had a non removable battery) and I despise my DNA for having no SD slot. I've had to dump so much off my phone that even 32gb would have been only marginally adequate. Plus I highly doubt Verizon will carry anything but the 32gb version (I'd maybe consider buying the 64). I haven't seen anything about to drop in the next month or two that I'm really thrilled with yet, but I don't think my DNA will make it long enough for the late summer/early fall phone releases.

I said they were very good reasons, but not that you'd necessarily like them ;)
I refuse to use cloud storage for music so that's one of my big reasons for wanting an SD slot. If i don't have wifi handy I'm screwed with cloud storage. Does anyone have any ideas as to which storage options Verizon will carry? For the S4 and S5 Verizon only carried the smallest 16gb model.

The Note 4 is a really great looking phone and stands pretty much toe to toe with the S6. But I had the Note 2 once, which I absolutely loved until I starting noticing this pain in my elbow from using my pinkie to support the bottom of the phone in (awkward) one handed use. After 8 months, I finally let it go and traded in for the S4. The elbow pain went away pretty quickly and it was a breeze to use one handed after making do on the Note 2, kind of like when a batter uses a donut on his bat in the on deck circle. That took a lot of the sting out of leaving the Note -- I loved the big screen and the awesome battery life.

Which is a long winded way to saying phablets are no bueno for me.

A quick review:

Both almost the same size
The Galaxy is a bit lighter. - Supports payemtns via Paypal and credit cards using finger print & Samsung pay
Resolution: Galaxy M9
1440 x 2560 pixels (~577 ppi pixel density) 1080 x 1920 pixels (~441 ppi pixel density)

Minimum internal memory for both is 32GB which is a great step forward, no more installing problems for "Out of space" issues. (No memory card slot for the Galaxy)

Camera:
Galaxy - 16 MP, 2988 x 5312 pixels
M9 - 20.7 MP, 5376 x 3752 pixels
freaking awsom

Audio:
Stereo speakers for the HTC, wonder how good that is :)

Battery:
Both has none remival batteries
Galaxy - Li-Ion 2550 mAh
M9 - Li-Po 2840 mAh

Both in the same price group

Overall they give each other a tough fight, but I would go for the Galaxy S 6 for the Payments options available which are usfull to me.

How many places accept "Samsung pay"? Honest question, as I just don't know.

I got a chance to play briefly today, though the M9 in the shop was not attached to a charger so had run down (some shops are just dumb!). I have to admit that I found the M9 more comfortable to hold - slightly narrower plus curved back vs slightly wider and flat was quite a significant difference to me.

And for @Cobravision (since I know you like this colour), the gold S6 Edge is interesting :). I'm not a fan of gold generally, but in reality it seemed darker than I expected (thought that may depend on lighting) and the metallic finish under glass was nicer than I expected. So somewhat to my surprise I found I actually liked the colour :). But funnily also found I had more mixed feelings about the Edge design: I like that it's narrower and appears almost side-bezel-free from the front, but if I actually looked at the edges themselves I found myself less sure. But the one I saw was clamped hard to a wall, so I should reserve judgement until I can actually handle one properly. I will say that the screen itself was beautiful: there was a liquid quality to it with some wallpapers :)

I was able to hold an untethered edge and it felt great in my hand. I have yet to see the gold model, but ill probably hold off until I see and hold the gold edge.
