Help Galaxy SIII MMS issue

Whenever I receive MMS messages they show up as a text saying "MMS" with a play button beside it. If i click on the message it opens as usual (no matter what it is it seems to always play as a video or slideshow but I understand this is a common problem) but its just blank, all I see is a black screen. Any suggestions. I've read alot about other GSIII MMS issues but I havnt been able to find an answer to this problem.

ShadyBob91, I'v noticed with Samsung phones (it might actually be an issue with other Android phones as well) that a picture sent as a text message to my S3 with actual text accompanying the message results in an MMS message with the "Play" button associated with it and the sent picture cannot be manipulated so as to be able to zoom in and out of the picture or the picture enlarged and minimized. However, if the picture is sent without any text, the sent picture will not have the "Play" button associated with it and the picture can be manipulated like it regularly can be. I've made it a habit when sending a picture via text to any phone (android or iOS) to send the picture separately from any text message I wanted to send regarding the picture. Just recently, my brother who has another S3 sent me a picture and message and I had the MMS issue wherein I could not enlarge the picture to zoom in so I asked him to send it to me again without any text message and I had no problem manipulating the picture in the resent text message. I've also noticed that texts from my friend with an HTC One X with pictures and text together results in the same MMS issue while texts with pictures that he has sent without text messages have not had any picture manipulation issues as well.

I have the same problem. It is just the way it is implemented. I downloaded Go SMS Pro and it works even with text being sent in the same message.

Just in the last week my phone has started doing the same thing. On mine I get 5-8 seconds of the screen displaying the text and then it shows the picture for another 10 or so seconds. so its basically running MMS like an old school film strip.

If its giving you the playback bar at the bottom try skipping ahead to about the 10 second mark and see if it displays your picture.

This is a horrible change in how it used to be but...

Does anyone know if the default Android Messaging app also does this or if it is just the Samsung Messaging app?

Every stock sms app ive used on android has done it the same way mate including Sony i think and i think Sony uses very stock android apps.
