Galaxy Vibrant turning off, rebooting with low batt.

Ok. I searched, read the FAQ, and even the recommended threads, and none of them are exactly like my problem, so....

I have a Galaxy Vibrant. I ordered a new battery for it, and the battery is higher capacity. But here is the problem:

It occasionally reboots, especially when in my pocket, and whenever it reboots, it comes back on with "low battery". I have cleared the settings, and restored the phone to factory settings, and done several other things, but it still does this. Will rooting the phone help?

Any other suggestions?

Also, it has no more memory. I keep having to delete apps, but there's so much bloatware on the thing that I don't know what to do! How can you get rid of the installed apps, so there's more room for what I actually want?

Ok. Nobody answered, but 28 of you read it, so let me give you an update:

I noticed the battery was really loose, and would rattle around (When I ordered the higher capacity replacement battery, it came with a new back to accomodate the larger battery)

I got to thinking, what if at least one of the problems is the battery comes unseated when the phone is jostled?

So I took some toilet paper, folded it, and placed it between the battery and the case back. Now the battery sits securely, and doesn't wobble around like a maraca, and the phone no longer turns itself off randomly. It also held it's charge all day yesterday! Success! Now, the screen still freezes from time to time, but when I reboot it after, it comes back up at the same battery level I had before!
