Galaxy Y = a mini alternative?

I want to get a post paid that offers the Samsung Galaxy Y. It's the most popular budget android phone here and I was wondering if it is a great alternative to the Galaxy S and Ace? I want a mini-Galaxy S2 and since the Ace and S are not offered in the plan I have, should I get this instead?

Galaxy S has faster processor, Ace runs on an older Android. Y is cheap and runs on Gingerbread.
