Help Galaxys hooking up to computer

I,ve tried everything on the internet.. My phone goes into charge state as soon as i plugged it in. tried changing settings as suggested on internet, Battery removal etc....I,d reall appreciate some help! Thanks
 
Have you tried disabling USB debugging mode and Settings>Applications>USB settings and select Ask on connection?
