Help Gallery/camera issues

DIANNEJ

Lurker
I've had my GS3 for over a month now with no issues. Except... yesterday I decided I was going to check out other features in the gallery and clicked on "albums" and switched from albums to location and then back to albums... when I clicked back into albums everything was gone. Downloads, Pictures, Camera Pictures - does anyone have any idea why or how I can get them back? :(

try to Clear Data for your Gallery.

go to Settings > Application Manager > Gallery > Clear Data.

if that doesn't work, try to reboot your phone.

in my experience, the Gallery app is pretty bad with refreshing.

what happens when you connect your phone to your computer?

are you able to see all your pictures from browsing your phone?

I did that too.. and the pictures I just took with my phone are not there. I'm stumped. Not sure why they disappeared. Reluctant to EVER click on anything in Gallery again without first backing up my phone.

Tbh i dont know. Havent tried what u did but i really doubt the pics have been lost. The phone would have warned you.
Hopefully youll get a good reply
was your camera set to save pics to the phone or external Sd Card btw?
Ps. Try a gallery app from the Play Store. i recommend QuickPic, and see if it shows your pics

Word of advice, though after-the-fact. Before you go start exploring into the unknown, do a backup. Actually, a couple times a week, I back up everything to my pc.
As for the picture loss, were you in the picture app itself, or were you in settings? I know there's a action in there someplace that says it'll clean up space. It will, by deleting your pics and music.
Also, is there a possibility that you selected multiples, then hit the delete button by mistake? Are you also sure you didn't accidently move them to another file/folder? Check every file & folder you have, no matter how small or unlikely it is that they may be in it.

Whats that setting to clean up space mate?

I'll have to find it again.
I only did it once on a different phone (HTC EVO V 4g). The title said it would clear up space, and I think it misread my photos and music as something else, because it deleted them. Good thing I had it all on my pc.
I'll look and see where it is.
