Help Gallery does not work

fairhsa

Lurker
Had my phone since Christmas and I love it. Had a Note 1 previously. But I cannot for the life of me get Gallery to work. I click on it, sometimes I get a black screen, sometimes I do see photos. I try clicking on an album and NOTHING HAPPENS.

Surely this is not correct!

When I try and look at the last photo I have taken on the camera (through the camera app) I can see the last photo but only the last photo, can't scroll through any others and I cannot get any of the menus (the share menu for example) to come up.

The phone is working fine except for this, so I'm really confused. I have tried rebooting. Other forums said "clear the data in the gallery" but "gallery" does not appear in application manager!!! So how????

Can anyone help? I will have to go back to the Note 1 if I cannot use this phone as a camera as it's a really important part of what I want.

If you go to Application manager and scroll across the top to All, you'll definitely see Gallery in there.

Remember, you have 2 DCIM folders - one in the internal SD card, one in the external SD card. (You also have a "Pictures" folder in internal memory [Phone] which is included in what Gallery shows.) Pictures in either one's Camera sub-folder show as "Camera", but not together. Gallery just scans the entire phone and shows you what's in it. It's up to you to make folders and put pictures where you want them. (Picture groups on the external card will have a little SD card icon on them.)
