Help Gallery problem!

Hello. I noticed lately that some of the photos or videos I take with the camera dissapear from the gallery. They show up initially, but after a while they dissapear. The files are still there as I can see them with a file manager but they simply don't show up in gallery. It only shows the preloaded photos and 2-3 photos I took some time ago but not the new ones. If I reboot the phone everything goes back to normal. But after a while they dissapear again.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi -- I don't have a solution, but I have exactly the same problem. HTC support suggested a factory reboot but, as you say, that seems to only be a temporary fix. I got my DZ just after Christmas; is yours recent as well?

Hi there, i may have a solution not that it was done by myself but a friend of mine.
If possible try deleing the gallery app itself and to download the app again straight off the net and reinstall under a different name. It wasent for the gallery app but it certainly fixed a very similar problem instantly for him.
You may have trouble finding the app to download for free as its a HTC official app, maby someone here mite know a location of a download. It may not work but surely worth a shot. Cant see no harm in trying it.

I'm having the same problem. Early pics are there but older pics keep disappearing. A reboot seems to sort it, but it's not ideal.
How do we tell HTC about this? Maybe a software update could fix it, but they have to be told about it first.

first of all congrat for owning a desire z.
I am working at telefonica movistar. desire z is actually one of the most advanced smartphones nowadays.
i tried nokia n900 and compaired to linux android is really cool.

we have a bug with gallery indeed. somehow does not actualises the content of the sd card/phone.
So you might take pic or shoot video and they get save in the drives BUT you do not see them in the gallery :-(

hope HTC bring an update

I have detected some more bugs:
when linking contacts: eg your friend in facebook and in twitter and linkedin, they might come to an error when searching in your contacts.

some time home screen takes some seconds to appear

I've had my Desire Z for about a month now. I did have this problem in the first week - the thumbnail of each photo I'd taken showed only as a question mark.

So I thought I'd connect the phone to the PC via USB cable to see if the photos had actually saved, but using the phone only as an external drive (I hadn't got around to installing the HTC sync software). The photos were all visible via the PC, so I backed them up.

When I disconnected the phone from the PC, the gallery recognised all photos and has ever since. This has fixed it for me, well, so far!

I read somewhere else that removing and reinserting the SD card also fixes the problem.

My Desire Z (on Vodafone AU) was shipped with the SD Card inserted. It may be that the phone doesn't recognise the card, until you remind it that it's there!!
