Help Gaming on the Prevail

cioni

Lurker
Im kinda new to the droid technology, but ive been doing some research and i know its possible to use either the ps3 remote or the wii remote to play on droid phones...is it possible to use either one of those on the prevail, because playing super mario 3 is rediculously difficult while using the screen as the controller... sorry if i posted in the wrong spot

Not sure why you would want to use a game controller on your phone; you might as well just play the PS3/Wii.

Better resourses and a HDTV would put a Prevail to shame.

He wants to use the wii remote to control his emulator games rather than the crappy touch screen controls. My friend does this on his jailbroken itouch

Snake: Ive tried linking my wii remote to my phone, and my phone identifies it but it wont link up due to a code error...its the same when i tried to link my ps3 remote to my phone via bluetooth, i got a error saying a protocol is missing

im leaving on a trip to FL, i live in IN....so its pretty much like a 24-26 hour drive to where im going so i cant exactly bring my tv with lol

yeah i know what you mean.. About the code error, does it ask for a pairing code? if so the default for many bluetooth objects is just 0000.

if not, what does the error code say? do you already have a prevail and a wii remote?

Found 1 wiimote(s)
connecting....
an error has occured last error: No Route to Host

note that this app might not work on unmodified Samsung devices.

am i doing something wrong?

ive tried the wiimote, RWiimote., WiimoteController...neither have worked so far...wiimote wont even say anything after scanning...the RWiimote however said "Sorry no support on this device" after i scanned for the remote and the Wiimotecontroller's error is No Route to Host...the emulator im using is Nesoid....im starting to think that this is lost cause

how much did your wii remote cost you? This is important because there are actually 2 revisions of the remote. The original should be $20 and the newer one around $30-40

oh also i found this on a thread that showed WiimoteController 0.1 on another site:

1. Install app
2. Run app
3. Pair wiimote to droid from app
4. Select wiimote as keyboard input device (you can do this from within the app as well)
5. launch NESoid (other emulators may work too)
6. In NESoid settings select box for bluetooth input device
7. map buttons just like you would map a custom layout on the hardware keyboard

when your done just go back to the app and switch back to Android Keyboard input device and your all set

i bought it used from gamestop, the price i paid is 29.99....i managed to get my wii remotes BT address and i tried to have WiimoteController, and when i search for it manually and im still getting the same error.."No route to host"... there any other way to tell what version Wii mote i have other then the price, or r the versions pretty much similar besides the hardware inside?

i did some research on the wii remote and the one i bought doesnt have the clear gell on...i think mine is the older version.

The wiimote apps say they wont work on newer samsungs unless you have custom firmware like cyanogenmod. I see that some galaxy s's with cm7 will get the wiimotes to connect, no confirmation on modded prevails.

Didnt work when I had shabby .9 installed, not workin now with stock GB. About to put ctmod and try again. Maybe someone running hroarks cm rom could confirm functionality?

BTW in the faq its said that most aftermarket wiimotes wont work and theres problems with the classic controller.
Also, difference with older amd newer wiimotes, newer ones have motion plus funtionality built in.

Results are in.. Mostly

Wont connect if: Phone is stock, running shabbymod, or ctmod
Does connect Hroarks CM7 Beta3.5

Now to test it out

Update: tested with supergnes works fine
