I'm having the HARDEST time deciding whether to get the GS2 or the GNex, and the one thing that keeps tripping me up is the performance angle. On paper, the GS2 seems like it has the better processor / video card, but benchmarks are all over the map. Some benchmarks show the two phones to be almost equal, while others (ie, quadrant) show GS2 to be far ahead in terms of real performance.
This is driving me crazy because I know ICS is hardware-accelerated so the GNex's speed may be derived from that, and not the processor itself. If ICS was put on GS2 (which it will soon), then the GS2 may be much faster. The truth is that it's very hard to compare both phones because of the two different operating systems.
My question is, has anyone had any experience playing intensive games or using intensive applications on both GS2 and GNex? Have you noticed any difference between the two?
BTW, the reason I'm being so anal about this is because I've been stuck with the original Droid for 2+ years, and it is such a piece of crap phone now, so I want to make sure that I won't have the same experience in 2 years
