Root GAOSP Froyo Nightly Builds

I thought from what I heard that the full JIT running from froyo required more memory than was offered by the i7500. I heard its not by much though because I think the hero has enough to run it. I'm really sure. But as I said before I guess we will find out when the next build is released.

just wondering has anyone entered their details on android market yet? will it affect any markets if I return to galaxo?

I just did it...:)
simply replace rectoolz back to the 4.X rectoolz

Thank you, I was thinking of doing this, I wonder why Drakaz removed this feature in his latest recovery version, not sure if it's a bug becuase it's available for download for some time and no one seems to be bothered about it.

can't enable JIT and compcache in setting/cyanogenMod settings/performance settings, there is no effect to enable compcache in galaxo configuration.

Performance is only a little bit better than 1.6.3.3, can't install Neocore to test the 3D performance, Quadrant Standard get 300 marks.

wipe it after installation will make it hang.....

on the new recovery you apply the gapps as any zip file
no need for old recovery

Installing Google Apps
Put the gapps zip file on the 7Gb memory of your Galaxy (internal sdcard)
Boot into recovery
Select "Apply any zip from sd" and then select the gapps zip file
Reboot

you have to download the froyo google apps, and just apply the zip again, no need to go back to 4.6.2

I installed everything, and seems to work fairly well (albeit a bit slow, prolly due to it being a nightly build). The only problem I have is that the market home screen doesnt load... I can search for apps, and the market finds them, but it cant load the home screen, and as such wont let me browse categories and the likes... anyway, anyone having this problem and found a way to solve it?

Please ignore, worked after a reboot...

Didn't anyone experienced the 'screen can't be unlocked after receiving a call' bug?
It was a deal breaker for me - I won't reset the phone after every received call...
Besides that, It did seem to run smoothly... and the no sd card support / no camera didn't bother me so much.

I have this problem once

But now I set the security pattern with error delay, it somehow worked :)

when the proximity sensor is on sometimes it take a while until the screen comes back, but i never encountered the bug as in beta2

when the sensor is off i havent got any problems

installation was piece of cake.. performance & look is yummy yummy.. feels like apply cream on it and swallow it.. but yeah.. few hiccups.. and guess, that is why it is still not officially out yet..

-back to home screen is too much delayed.. I sometimes get ADW launcher FC/wait after a black screen for seconds..
-JIT not activating..(not sure what it is. just read above)
-SD card no support - not a problem
-SD card mount issue - not a problem
-no camera - huge problem (Drakaz, you rock.. you can do it) - waiting
-sometimes phone just stops responding after screen lock - remove battery option left
-side lock key nonoperational - strange.. can we customize it?
will come back again with more..

yes - settings - cyanogenmod settings - input settings -
set the unlock key wake and unlock on

"Drakaz took aggresive stance against apps regarding cleaning their cache or killing them in his latest Galaxo 1.6.3.1. That basically means if you surf the web and go to home screen, returning back will result in reloading of the page which takes time and bandwidth."

When installing apps from the android market they seem to download but an eternity to install!
I have no idea why this is. Considering the first few apps I downloaded actually installed.

In your opinion, is it fit for daily use, if you dont mind the camera (Im on 1.6.3.3. and camera is acting up all the time, so am not using it)? I tried the old when yesterday under a different google account and switched back in about an hour... am missing it though, felt really awesome with a few hickups here and there. Now if I want to use my usual account on the nightly built it will be all messed up with the market if I would decide to reverse back, or wouldn't it?

first, let me say - YES, its daily useable
i use mainly the google aps (calender, mail) for my job and being out of the office for many hours a day its great
i just restored my 1.6.3.3 backup and tryed the market and mail and all was working great, so back trace is fine.
in 1.6.3.3 right now i got 2.4 on linpack.... half from the new nightly
plus : when i use my mail i often need to copy and paste from the mail or from web page and now on 2.2 we have this option so life are great!
i have used the last nightly daily and never looked back and now its faster
i'll post tommorow how the battery lasting

thanks for the info, sounds great... i'll give it a spin.. do i have to enable jit manually through either galaxo config or other settings or is it implemented by default?
