Root GApps on Nookie Froyo without ADB?

I've been going crazy the last few hours looking for how to install GApps onto Nookie Froyo (0.68) without using ADB. I figured there should be some simple flashable zip that I can use in ClockworkMod recovery, but that doesn't seem to exist. I tried using the CM7 one with no luck. I tried creating my own using files from an ADB-based guide with no luck, either.

Is there any way to get GApps onto Nookie Froyo without ADB? As you can probably guess, I've spent hours trying to get ADB to work on my PC, because that seems to be the easiest method. I can ADB into my HTC Incredible just fine, but no matter how many times I follow the directions and troubleshoot, the Nook simply doesn't show up as a device.

I imagine this is a path that others have followed before, so it puzzles me as to why there's no guide or, again, a simple flashable zip.

I'm just emailing myself the APK files directly to my gmail account and when I open the email in the gmail app on my nook, it gives me a install option. Then bam, I hit install and is now on my Froyo 6.8.

Thats a great idea. I emailed it to my gmail acct but get a parsing error when trying to open it.

I really do not understand why people continue to use these outdated and unsupported roms when they could be using cm7. Everything is a million times easier to set up and development still continues on it.

I had Froyo for about 15 minutes from an SD card to try it out. I hated it and went back to CM7.

I suspect if the first tutorial you find that makes sense and seems to click with you, is the one you install. Many newbies won't know the the difference between Froyo and the man on the moon. :D
