The price of gas here has taken a sudden jump. Today it is $2.99 for regular where I always buy my gas.

I run premium in my mowers. I thought it was a sales tactic years ago when the manufactures started requiring an additive or burning premium in my commercial mowers. I had a Walker mower that fuel problems almost the entire time I owned it. I burned regular through it and when I moved on from that mower, I also moved on to burning premium gas. I've not had a fuel related problem with the three mowers I now use. Before the recent price jump, I filled up my Grasshopper to the tune of over $25.Try PREMIUM! Heck, I paid $4.29 a gallon and that was at Costco!![]()
I'm no gas or engine expert. I'm just doing what the boys at the mower dealership told me to do. I'm buying the gas they recommended and from the establishment they recommend. I'm into my 12th year without an engine problem. (knocking on wood) Maybe I used up all my bad mower luck with that Walker. It was always in the shop.Seems to me that ethanol-free gas would be more effective in your small engines than premium with ethanol... even if it's Top Tier gas.
