Gave up.

I don't use my physical keyboard much. But, at Blockbuster today, I was trying to look up movie reviews while at the store. I was using the physical keyboard big time so that I could still navigate on a full web screen. Turned out to be very useful. I'm 99% certain I'm keeping me Droid no matter what.

I've been finding myself using the "useless" (as I called it) keyboard more and more too! Even though I have swype installed, which is awesome btw. I think it's great having another option. I am pretty sure I'll be keeping my droid too, but that feeling changes frequently. Only because of the weight of the phone. I do think it would kind of crazy to return a phone only because it is a couple of ounces to heavy for me??? Love the form factor of the eris and bravo type phones! ;)

Well, I gave up as well. After not hearing anything concrete on any new android phones from HTC coming out, I gave in. I ordered two HTC Eris' for me and my wife tonight. I couldn't ask for a better deal...I only paid a total of 30 bucks for both of them. I really have been spending way too much time stressing out over these rumored HTC Incredible/Passion/Bravo/Dragon phones. It's high time for me to move on and enjoy my new Eris. This will be my first smartphone, much less android device, so I'm looking forward to it. I'm coming from a Motorola Razr V3M so I'm in for a treat!:) I suppose if something much more concrete comes out about the I/P/B/D within the next 30 days, I'll think about returning them. If not, I will be happy with my choice. I love Sense UI and the Eris is confirmed for a Android 2.1 update in the first quarter of 2010. After that, I will have most of what I want in a phone anyway. Thanks guys for riding this wave with me, but it is time for me to head to shore. I will check in periodically to see what's going on. Later!

My 30 day trial with the Eris is about up. I was hoping to get some concrete info on the Bravo/Incredible but still nothing. So, I will be keeping the Eris.

So did I. My 30 days ended Friday. Only 19 more months left till another upgrade. Just imagine how slick the phones will be then. Dual core processors, 1.5 gigs of RAM. Should be pretty sweet.

After much thought, I decided to trade in my Moto DROID for the eris. I am happy with my decision too! It is so much lighter and nicely contoured. However... I just realized last night that I cannot use SWYPE on it as I had been with the DROID! What a bummar!!! I was sooooo disa ppointed! Not a deal breaker though as I'm hoping that something will be available in the market soon that is comparable. I thought I found something in this forum for an app called shapewriter, but couldn't find it in the market. Regardless, I happy to have the eris.

Its quotes like this, from some of the most amazing people in the world that give me such inspiration. Seriously. Could you imagine you country getting the shit bombed out of it, with death getting closer by the second and you still have the faith that you will prevail. Amazing. Oh, just so we are clear I haven't caved yet. Boo-yahhhhh!

Got a Droid on Thursday... Love the hard keyboard... Funny enough it is VERY useful.

Overall I have zero complaints and I'm glad to be playing with my new toy rather than looking at this forum every few hours with the hope of something better.

I'm going to semi-give up. My friend is going to be nice enough to let me use one of the upgrades on his multi-line account to get a Droid now so I don't have to use my upgrade. If something comes out better I'll eBay the Droid.

Glad everything worked out for you. I'll continue to wait as 1-3 months is still shorter than the 20 months once I'm locked into a contract.

u can buy a new phone every year at verizon.. seems like no one knows this! you have to re-up your deal again, but you can buy a new phone every year at subsidized price.... no 100 dollar discount though... hope that helps your decision...

I thought about the Eris back at Xmas time, but even 10 months was too long to be locked down. I just don't want to settle and be stuck. That being said, it's good to know that if I get a phone this Mar/Apr on 2 year contract, I can still get one in a year if something better comes down the line. Thanks for the info. But what do you mean about no $100 discount? You mean the new every two credit?

correct... you re-up with a new 2 yr deal each year... you forfeit the new every 2 discount, but you get a new phone every 12 months...

That's really good to know. I've been with Verizon for years and just get the NE2. It's worth it to do it your way and forget the discount especially with all the new technology coming out. I'm due my NE2 in March. I hope my timing is good for a "Bravo" like phone or the N1.

I upgraded from a Storm to a Droid after a year and I didn't get my new every 2 then but I still get the 100$ when I am supposed to that I can use towards one of the other lines on my family share or my bill when the time comes...At least that's what I was told when I upgraded. I specifically asked if I lost my new every 2 though.

hmm, i dont think so... i believe the NE2 is only for the primary line, not shareable with the additional lines... you dont lose your NE2 per se, you just have to wait the 2 years or 20 months etc, and you'll get the 100 bucks off... so in other words, you can buy a new phone every year and then decide to wait next time and get the discount...

Still hanging in there...contract comes up in 3 days, we'll see how long I can hold on after that. Please, please, please Bravo/Passion/Incredible or what ever your name is come out SOON!! I'm getting weak!

Thats my understanding that officially only the primary gets NE2. The other lines are upgradable at reduced price probably after the same amount of time. my upgrade (secondary line on family plan) time was back in november and I've been hurtin.
