Root GB Root

I downloaded the GB update from Verizon the night it came out. I was curious if it is possible now to root the phone and possibly put the sense UI 3.0 on it and make it a useful update. I think the answer is going to be no, but if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Sure you can still root Check out the rooting thread that is stickyed in all things root, you just need to use revolutionary and you will soon be enjoying all the things that come along with using Android to it's true potential

Scotty85 has, he has flashed several GB RUU's and rooted them again with revolutionary. I can't find the post now because these forums have blown up since the OTA was released

Hboot wasn't updated in the OTA beyond what has been in the past several leaks, if you check out your hboot (power off, power back on holding volume down, the bootloader should look like the picture in his post there, if it does then the is no doubt revolutionary will work.

Try the synergy ROM its sense 3.0 and runs great for me...there Is a post on it in the rooting thread on how to do it step by step if your a noob like me

I was rooted 2.11.605.0 and Sense 3.5. Then I stupidly updated with the 605.3 OTA and unrooted myself. phone works fine. but Now when I try to power up with volume down, i get a big pink "LOCKED" message at the top of the recovery screen. Does this mean I'm screwed and wont be able to unlock and root my phone with Revolutionary?

Just use revolutionary and it will give you root again. The big pink locked means the phone hasn't been unlocked via HTC's unlock program

Thanks for the reply Yeahha. One of many root consultants out there told me that since I was rooted (w/ BAMF SOAB w/ Sense 3.5) and then subsequently just recently boot recovered with the very latest OFFICIAL OTA 605.3 release image on my phone, I "locked myself" out and would have to wait for an RUU break to come out (maybe by end of year). He then politely bowed out of any further responses. I am a total NewB and would be attempting Revolution myself using a youtube video for instruction...
