GelaSkins now available for Eris!

damn, they look pretty nice. but as far as protection, they are just like a vinyl decal i suppose.... :\

Eh. I'll pass. They seem to hurt my eyes a bit. I guess if you got them and DIDN'T get the matching wallpaper for the homescreen they would be ok. Whoever thought of these though was very creative in my book.

I dont know if I will order one or not ... but I was playing with the create your own option. I am a big baseball fan and made this one, I think it looks pretty sweet:

One of the most attractive elements of the Eris, to me, is that matte black finish from top to bottom and all the way around.

I would never mess with that; it seems like a stroke of aesthetic genius, especially as I look at the Hero, etc.

It's very classy, indeed.

This. It is a very slick looking phone when its naked.

I love Gelaskins - I have Starry Night for my Macbook, and I had one on my first Nano.

This is a tough choice - I like the Otterbox case, but Gelaskins would let me carry the phone thinner but still with scratch protection for it. Hmmmm....

Thanks for the heads-up.

A friend of mine has a gelaskin on his Motodroid. It looks pretty tacky. I personally can't stand any skin or case on my phone. It looks better without one. The only reason to have a cover is for protection if you work in harsh conditions or something.

If my wife had an Eris as well, I could tell mine at a glance if they were sitting next to each other on the counter with a Gelaskin. And my pockets are harsh enough conditions, at least in my case. One more thing (though the Eris isn't bad with this particular issue) - it makes a somewhat slippery device very grippy.

I'm still not sure, though.

I had stuff like these on my nano a few years back, and it was fine for that.

With this phone though? Eh. I'd wonder how well it would adhere to the matte finish, and if it would end up with an orange peel effect.
