Help General questions about my device

Ya I'm not a big Facebook kinda guy so I don't even have its app. If I wanna check up on my FB ordeals I use my boat mini browser and log in that way, when I'm finished I log out no worrys no background noise possibilitys on the note of FB killing any kind of battery. Need root to delete FB on stock rom tho, or else ur only other option is freezing,/hibernating the app

Hey, follow my tips, u will get better battery and performance when u flash custom kernel, I recommend franco
Franco's kernel - while indeed excellent - is only available for a small percentage of phones.

It's best to check first and ensure that it's available for the phone in question before recommending it, it'll save a lot of confusion.

And to check the kernel that the OP has repeatedly referred to. Freedom kernel is very good, Franco's not the only one.

Yup I think Franco only does nexus and now the OnePlus One. I've donated to him via buying his apps including the excellent Franco Kernel Updater after what his kernel did for my ailing 1st gen nexus 7. Great dev.
Anyway sorry for the Francisco Franco appraisal and back on topic lol

Not sure how its not installed if I'm using Freedom kernel and when I asked Game theory if I had to reflash the freedom kernel after a hard reset he said no and that I didn't follow instructions properly and that all I had to do was download, and I did and I am running the freedom kernel if u would like a screenshot as proof lemme knw

I do say they're maybe an initial zip to flash but after that all I have had to do is hit install kernel easy right?

Ya deffinetley Earlymon is spot on on that lil factoid, NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER flash a kernel/rom any zips without knowing damn well if it fits ur device.

Initially yes U flash it after that if say after a hard reset u just download to install I hollered out to GameTheory who created the Freedom Kernel and ya that was his specific advice no need to reflash thts what I meant my bad all.

Yeah a factory reset doesn't touch the kernel. Just the companion app or whatever :thumbsupdroid:
(some kernels (Franco for example) have an app that can detect what device you're on, download the correct version for your device and flash it without you even having to boot recovery as well as having kernel tweak options)
I'm guessing that's what you're talking about?

So one more time to re-right my bad here I meant flashing a custom kernel was a one time deal for me I had to hard reset or (thought) I did while running into issues that were my own fault, poor GameTheory I sent the guy a text book calling out 4 help instead of just figuring it out using common sense and a lil know how my bad again bro. But ya I flashed freedom kernel once and anything after that if need be was as simple as the actual procedure (Download) Blam installed, am I wrong? I have noooooo prob sending a screenshot to further prove my point. but yes 4 the sake of those who still are to for the first trying to incorporate Xperion rom/Freedom kernel yes U need to flash kernel first time. I hope I cleared that up a bit folks!

Cool cool see my edit above mate.
No screenshot required lol I know a kernel survives a hard reset. It's part of the system :thumbsupdroid:

No I was referring 2 Earlymon, just wanted 2 edit 4 all other readers bro, so readers won't read bunk info lol. U seam alot more tech savy then I first thought man that's what's up! Keep up ur great work wow! U knw ur shit kid

Wow the Franco does all that a, Ya GameTheory wants nobody using freedom kernel but on his Xperion rom. & I feel em. but ya damn Franco kernel is a lil smarter it sounds for sure as far as its intelligence on knowing which vers a system needs and hookin it up damn awesome. If I'm not mistaken Freedom kernel is for Xperion rom only.

Kernels have to be individually built and tested for each phone targeted.

It has nothing to do with not wanting the kernel used elsewhere.

It has everything to do with helping people not get bricks by using the wrong kernel for their phone.

Devs don't get free phones to sort that out, they have to do it the hard way.

Plus - all the additional advantages of a kernel from one phone may already be in the stock kernel for other phones.

@GameTheory knows what he's doing.

No I second that absolutly, makes perfect sense my bad I'm still getting er all down. this for broadening my knowledge base with that & I would never imply GameTheory doest knw what he's doing . I'm light years behind his genius. & this 4 setting me straight I don't wanna give bunk info that some poor Joe follows and in result of following messes his phone up. I think I stick to topics I know 100% from now on. but here this I'm on here to learn so I can return the favor. Goodlook 2 all at/on Android Forums, I'm learning soooooooo much thks 2 U all. this 4 setting the record straite Earlymon

Yup I think everyone here's worst nightmare is bricking someone's phone.
And we're all learning here.. Even EarlyMon.. and all get a buzz from sharing the love especially when you unbrick a phone and the person is so grateful :thumbsupdroid:

Nice choice of words my fellow Android fanatic! Though soft brick isn't hard brick correct me if I'm wrong but a Hard brick is just that and there is nothing u can do to reverse that.

Thks 4 clarifying Earlymon Cuz I myself was unsure as to what or what type of kernels can be used with what devices. So that info helps a lot ah ppl my friend really

Hope God do I hope I'm in the proper thread last thing I need is anther reprimand lol. want to put this out there since some of my post have been misunderstood or "too long" eventhough a given ordeal may require more than 2 lines god forbid. I am no longer experiencing any lagg on AF. and as far as nobody knowing what's wrong with it or "whipping" my mess if U will, let me clearify So there's NOOOOO miss understanding a simple misunderstood issue, plea, example what have you. Now I knw what's "wrong" with my phone its called learning which I am and hands on. Any issue I have had thus far has been tweaks I apply and test, Some workout some don't I shouldnt have bothered GT as much at first, I got it. thks for all the (decient) help and easy going ppl.
