A title states, this is a thread for general questions, issues, and for new users to this device or HTC android devices in general. :)

Hi all,
Is there a way to view the time in the call history, I have tried lots of stuff but nothing shows what time a call from yesterday or beyond ?

Thank You
HTC one max verizon

EDIT:

I purchased the call history app, that shows the time, but why not built in?

I swapped it out for unlimited call log

unlimited call log

i think the HTC One (and possibly other devices in this line) also did not show the call history. I will edit this post if it did, but I think I also recall this concern left out on that model as well. Could be an HTC thing.. ;)

Wow, I've loved this phone since I got it last Nov. and it's hasn't rebooted by itself one time, unlike my other HTC phones, but tonight I reached for it to check out a new app I read about, and it's totally dead. No power, no power light when plugged in, nothing. Holding down the power button does nothing, holding down the power button while holding the up or down volume button does nothing either.

Since there's no battery to pull out, any suggestions? If not, I guess I head to the Sprint store tomorrow.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I was pressing the power button and holding the power button to no avail, then I went into the living room to lament to my wife about this awesome phone that seemingly is a doorstop now, and while pressing the power button to show her, it booted up! Go figure. I sent the error report to HTC and everything seems fine now, so....huh, eh?

I found this somewhere else but maybe this has something to do with it working in front of your wife, if not maybe will help someone else?

"Try holding the power button and volume down buttons down, while holding the proximity sensor directly under a very bright light..."

I'm considering buying a One Max and was wondering how much HTC has messed with the Jelly Bean OS. Is it close to stock or not? And if it has Sense, what the heck is Sense? Oh, and can I skip the Kit Kat update, as I hate Kit Kat?

Is there anyway of changing the folder that pics that are downloaded to. Downloaded pics always go to the download folder but if for instance I want to add a pic in a reply on Facebook it only gives me the option to add a pic from camera roll.
If I go into the downloaded pics and try to copy to another folder it doesn't give me the option to copy to camera roll so I can't put the pics I want into a reply, anyone know how I can sort it.

You have the latest Android kit Kat update installed yes?

This update prevents apps from accessing other folders on your device. Google says it's for security reasons.

In this case, the Facebook app can only access it's own folders and can't access other folders that have files you're looking for.

Try this workaround as it just worked for me:

Use your browser (I used chrome) to go to Facebook. I switched to desktop view. I went to a thread to reply and add a photo and it gave me the option to use "Android system" (which opens up the camera app to take a photo) or "documents". I chose documents and I was able to access other folders.

I have a Verizon HTC One Max

Love the phone am really starting to hate verizon

Today I finally noticed that I could use Amazon prime videos

So I downloaded the prime video player from Amazon app store

Open it it tells me to update Amazon store app

So I go to the Amazon site and Amazon site tells me all my devices are compatible
And tells me to download it from google play with a link.

So I click the link and google tells me not compatible with my device
So I uninstall the updates to the Amazon store app and now I notice it is different and I still can not update it at all:mad::mad::mad:

And that's not the word for it.

Please any ideas please

Hi, I wonder if you can help. My HTC Max seems to think I am abroad. When I use Firefox , chrome or ie and visit certain websites such as my online banking site with the Halifax . When I select contact us the number are always as if I can calling from abroad with the +44 then a region dial code. When I do this from my partners phone it gives the normal number of 0845 etc and no region codes etc.
Also with my credit card when I login it now says it does not recognise the device etc when I have always used my phone for their website.
I have checked.Google location history and it is correct and have no roaming charges and have not recently been abroad.
Any suggestions as to what has happened and how to rectify.
Thanks

let me ask some general questions:

are you rooted?
what carrier?
are you on the latest android update from your carrier?
did you install or uninstall any apps prior to this issue occurring?
have you performed a soft reset?
hold down the power + up button until the unit restarts. any change?
if you use the stock weather app that shows up on the main page (if you have your device set up in a normal config as oppose to using a launcher) does it show your current location or a different?
if all else fails, a factory reset may be in order.

Anyone had this before, play store and Gmail both crash as soon as you open them and the phone is also saying that my SIM card is empty.
Any ideas of what I can try as I have done the usual soft reset etc. Was working ok yesterday.

usual suspects:

are you rooted?
what carrier?
are you on the latest android firmware from your carrier?
did you install or uninstall any programs prior to this happening?
did you soft reset?
hold down the power + up volume to reset the phone.
untick fastboot
re-seat your sim card
worse case: factory reset

still having issues after that, could be an issue with the hardware. warranty time

your issue is not common and is most likely caused by something unique to your device and environment. sounds like a random glitch that occurs form time to time.

Hi,

I bought a grey import HTC One Max and would like to have English UK as the language, but only English (US) or English (Hong Kong) is listed under Language and Keyboard.

How can I install English UK?

Also,

Is there any difference in the globe internet Icon and the Google Icon for searching the internet?
Do they both use Google as search engine?

Thanks

IF you are looking for language packs for a keyboard, look in the google store for third party keyboards. swiftkey is one such keyboard that allows one to install different language packs. There are other 3rd party keyboards as well.

if you are talking about the system language, you may have to root your device to change the system language to something other than whats listed.

You can also check this link out as it may also provide help without rooting:
and/or look at this app in the store:

Google is a third party browser. HTC have a stock browser. they are both different browsers but both get you to the internet. you are welcome to try other browsers, such as firefox, boat browser, etc.

Hi whoever is still around,

Is the One Max discontinued? I'm having issues with mine and I may need to exchange it to Sprint, I didn't see it listed for sale anymore there or on Verizon either. Did they stop making it altogether? I wonder if they have unsold ones lying around for a replacement...

Thanks for any reply...if anyone is still here.here..here...here.....

;)

Not necessarily discontinued, still listed on the HTC site with a buy button that takes you to Best Buy.

So new in the box inventory definitely exists.

But all of the focus is on what's up in 2015.

What do you need help with compadre?

Hiya EarlyMon,

The problem I have with my loved phone is documented here:

http://androidforums.com/threads/rooted-new-4g-3g-issues-sprint.899595/#post-6871927

With no solution, so my thought is after I go through the horrid process (for me) of removing any trace of root going back to sprint and saying, "It's broke, fix it please." and crossing my fingers.
