If you do not want to root, go to app manager in settings and disable the ones you do not want.
The other post with wallpapers.. you can set those in settings as well... icons and such can be found in different launchers on the playstore... its easy to root and is fully reversable.. check out the How to threads

Short press on the image.. That will bring the image up in a new Window... From there on the top right it will say *go to full image * something like that.. Once your at the pictures Web site, long press and download the pictures
 
Clicking any of the clock widgets takes me to the date and time settings. Is there a way to get it to open up the alarm clock?

I guess I should add I'm on Verizon.

Try beautiful widgets in the market. Sprint has a built in widget for alarm clock, not sure about Verizon. Anyway bw has built in feature to launch up to three apps right from the home screen...
That or you might be able to create a short cut for it

Yea, I've been using BW for ages. Great program. I was just wondering if I have a glitch or something because on my Galaxy Tab 2 pressing the clock widget takes me to my clock but on my phone it doesn't. There are so many settings that I may have missed a setting. Thanks for the response.
 
On Black Friday, my girlfriend has the opportunity to get the S3 for only $0.96. What is the general consensus on the phone? It seems like an amazing device. She is (finally!!) sick of her iPhone and is getting with the Android craze.

I use the viggle app. The trivia options didn't pop up. Only the countdown and +10. I have adobe flash. Do I have to update anything like or is it just compatibility issues between app and phone.

On the sprint s3, you press the power button and home at the same time= screen shot

I have a similar type of battery in my HTC Desire HD which I've had for 2 years and I just charged it when I felt like I needed (usually anywhere between 30% and 70%, but often lots more or less) and the battery is still fine. Most nights it was only down to about 60% when I put it on the charger, and a few times it went completely flat. In other words I didn't follow any sort of strict procedure,while trying not to be totally stupid.

I assume that the one in my new S3 will be similarly idiot-proof...

On my S3, I just swipe the side of my palm across the screen sideways
 
I have just gotten my new Galaxy S3 and I am trying to set up eamil accounts. I have set up one through my internet provider (a standard POP3 acount) and one through my work (exchange actvie sync)

It seems that the email signature set in the default email account shows up on both emails, even if i turn signatures off in the second email. There is no text at all in the second email signatue setup.

In other words, it seems that only one email signature can be set.

Anyone else having problems? I saw one thread that talked about removing the default email selection, but it says I HAVE to use one of the email addys as default.

Hello. If anyone could answer this I would be grateful. Is it normal when I am browsing on the internet to see a blue hue on the edge of the screen when I try to scroll up and down And I reach the end of the web page. Like when I scroll all the way down on a weboage and I keep trying to go further but the webpage is finished a blue hue pops up at the edge of the screen. Thanks in advance

I do not yet gave my GS3 as it is en route and arriving tomorrow. I have the MAXX at the moment and in the photo settings it is set to 6mp as a default. It has the bars you speak of. Switching the resolution to 8mp uses the whole screen. Look for this setting. Again, I am not sure this is the issue. But it might work lol. I will let you know Monday after I have had time to play with it...giggity
 
"sdcard0" is your internal storage, "extSDCard" is your SD card
 
FIRMWARE QUESTION:

So if I buy a S3 from Germany (unlock - international version) and bring it to the UK and use it. When Jelly Bean 4.1.2 comes out in Germany, will my phone get the update too? Or I have to use a German mobile network in order to get the update?

Hi,

Joined this forum to see if anyone could help with an issue i am having with my S3.

The LED indicator on the phone is constantly flashing green as if i have pending notifications but i dont. The only way i can clear this is to reboot the handset but as soon as i get a text message for example it will constant flash again until i reboot.

Any help/advice is appreciated.
