Root General ROM question?

Here's a video of darky's rom.

This video shows the Gingerbread keyboard I read at XDA that guys can't find this Keyboard on their Flashes. The other glitch I have read about is the Video Camera doesn't work(reg. camera does). All other reviews are very positive.

I'm going to wait 'til Darky's settles down before considering it. I'm writing this with my phone in the other room. I don't want Assonance to be upset that I'm even thinking about another ROM. Shhhh!

LOL. Assonance is the other ROM I am considering. I was going to flash Darky 6.03 this morning but I might wait until Noon of so to see if he adds for tries to tweak a few other things this morning.

Mike has created such a stable ROM that I'd be crazy to consider anything other than his next update to Assonance 5. But, I'd also have to be crazy to have a closed mind.

Screw Samsung. For members whose native language is something other than English, let me translate...

Though my GPS seems fairly OK with Stock how is GPS with Assonance? Also how is overall speed with Assonance? I know anything better than Stock? Just looking for major likes for Assonance.

Thanks

GPS is such an individual, device-dependent feature that my results wouldn't relate properly to your experience. The Assonance thread over at XDA will give you a good cross-section of opinions when you search "GPS" within the thread. Overall, people are very pleased.

Regarding speed: Almost instantaneous response to finger presses. I have found that any lag for me has been app-specific. For example, the Opera Mini and xScope browsers lag a bit for me, whereas the stock browser is lightning fast. As always, YMMV.

Major likes: crispness, stability, and author's interaction with users. With Eclair I sometimes felt I was walking on a beach. With Assonance I feel as if I'm on a hot tin roof. And it will only get better.

P.S. LauncherPro has really enhanced the experience.

Just an update, I am running Darkys 6.0.3. It's not bad at all.

In the past few days I have gone from perception 4 to perception 8 to Assonance to Darkys....there was another rom in there that I can't remember.

Anyway, my experience has been that perception 8 has been the smoothest with the least lag out of all of them. As someone else said, ymmv.
