His relentless posts helped me find the type of dock I was looking for. So I for one am grateful to him.
Glad I could help. I don't know how I feel about "relentless", though. I was thinking more like "persistent"...?
Anyway, just an FYI to everyone buying this dock. I received it and it works perfect, but there are a few fine points to consider:
1. I purchased this mostly to use my phone as a bedside clock. In that respect, the dock has two LED's on it that are constantly illuminated while it is plugged in. The green one by the spare battery charger is not too bad, but the blue one in front of the screen is wicked bright. I would say brighter than my screen at 25%.
2. The DROID Incredible is not a dock-capable device. In case anyone wants to do the same, I used
Tasker to have the phone switch to
Gentle Alarm when I plug it into the dock. I set Tasker to start the app on two contexts: power via USB and orientation on the left side. Seems to work well, but I haven't really looked to see if Tasker is a battery hog yet.
Another FYI- I have tried every night clock and alarm app I could find and
Gentle Alarm has the dimmest night clock of all of them. You can even set it to automatically turn off after five seconds and turn back on with a simple tap of the screen.
Just in case anyone else plans to use it for the same purpose.
