Geniatech Enjoy TV

apropos flash player - 10.2 has somekind of acceleration (do not ask me how and what, i'm not programmer), but that new version 11.x what is possible to update has NOT that acceleration. so, somebody must do some thing about that. but i'm not sure do even someone think about it.

i had same problems few weeks ago, i installed flash 11.1 and everything become slow and un-watchable. when i returned to 10.2, video was ok.

about live stream, check few pages before, i linked one croatian news page which i can't watch normal. IMHO, it is more problem with programmers and numerous flash coding than our boxes.
 
Yes, the flash player 10.2 supplied by Geniatech utilises hardware acceleration whereas the generic 11.x does not (I believe). This means that with 10.2 the video chipset in our boxes takes some of the load from video processing away from the CPU but with 11.x the CPU has to work harder and hence the high number of dropped frames.

Probably only Geniatech can modify a later version of flash to utilise hardware acceleration for our boxes and I really hope they do because for me at least, 10.2 is useless.
 
hello gio965! im a big fan of your work! i have a question for you though...your integrated samba.apk and associated files , do they allow for logins to NAS samba shares like in 2.3.4 samba.apk? cos so far i can't get into my network shares because they all have passwords and ICS never throws up a need user/pass window at me like gingerbread did...what do you think?anyone else have this issue? i got root and all sorts of other good stuff goin on..flash is ok on netflix but laggy on veetle..anyone else?

It's not Geniatech but actually Amlogic who we need to get this from. I have e-mail them numerous times about it but no luck.

Are you saying Flash and Netflix are working well on ICS? That's news to me, maybe its time for me to finally upgrade. :)
 
ok...so i know what's wrong with the built in network samba app. it uses a service called smbd (samba daemon) in /system/bin. it needs to be started with the system and allowed to run again whenever needed. right now, it starts up as a oneshot. it logs in once, you close out of program, go back in and boom...doesnt work because smbd was used ONCE and shut down. I own an ATV-108 that also needs the samba sharing and it doesn't even start the smbd service becuase it is not invoked by the init.rc. init.rc is created by your root recovery image i believe. it is installed in one of the first mtd blocks and creates the root structure of your android system. then update.zip or update.img puts system files in. so we need to unpack the uimage and change init.rc to include /system/bin/smbd as MORE than a ONESHOT. i guess try for oneshot first, then try to keep it running. whos game?

The problem is related to the TVBox and its implementation of Flashplayer.

I also have an iMiTO Android tablet and Veetle lipsync is OK on that unit as is Crackle, YouTube etc. especially with the latest Flashplayer. Both the Gingerbread and ICS versions are OK

I updated my atv1000 in 4.0, but now i get lots of problem.
I can't shutdown the box, and when i go to "settings > ethernet" the settings panel gets error and close.
I will downgrade to 2.3.4 but i have some questions.

In 2.3.4 :
- i can't install applications when my SDcard is mount, nothing happens. If i unmount it, apps will install.
- it seems that the box lags when i put the display to 1080p, i'm not sure but mouse freezes often.

I've an enjoy tv atv 1000. I managed to upgrade it to android 2.3.4 version
I upgraded the market play store too. I installed last version of skype.

I would like to use it with my logitech hd camera but i'm not able to make it work with videocall. My webcamera is c520 model. It's like if android could not see the webcamera at all. Pls can you tell me if i must install some drivers to make it work ? Or android should recognize every model of camera and there's something else i must do ?
Sorry but this is my first attempts with android and I'm not expert

ICS is still unstabile, and there are different problems. so, wait for somekind of third-party solution or deal with those problems or return to 2.3.4.
simply, there is not much to tell about.

apropos 2.3.4, both questions are really strange. until now, there are no problems with 1080p setting. try to hard reset it. try another cable, try another hdmi port on tv.
same thing for sd card. did you formatted it in box or on pc? do format card on box. then simply copy back important files. maybe you use some problematic app? or, again, install w/o card, and after instalation plug it back.
i know, it is pain in the ..., but if nothing else works...
yes, did you check if sd card have some kind of lock on it for prevent writting on it? do you use card or mini/micro sd plus adapter?

if you do not have important stuff on box, do a fresh flash with 20110111 version. it is very stabile version of OS.

apropos webcam. first, if you use HD cam, it will be very laggy pic and all will be very slow! that is fact. i have also hd cam and i must buy another one-"normal" resolution.

webcam for those boxes must be driverless.
take look at this:
We have confirmed several kinds of camera & microphone which VID PID is
oc45, 62f1 and 046d,0825?i no need driver on pc ?jcan work on Geniatech Enjoy Box.
You can connect your camera & microphone to pc, and go to device manager to check the VID PID, see below pictures. If your VID PID is the same as below, we can sure it will work.
do a check on pc. i bought model c210 and it is still little bit laggy, but nothing special.

but, if this above is ok, than there is second problem! :cool:
app "3d gallery" which is somekind of driver or trigger for camera, have problem with older versions of app. to correct this, use app "quick snap" (or it is QuickSnap, i'm not sure, look for both).
all problems will be solved. for gallery, of you still want it, use installed 3g gallery, but for all shooting use this one.

I've read also that uvc webcam should be ok for our atv1000

For example logitech pro 9000. It shoulb be compatible with mac and linux, no drivers are necessarty. Might it be right ?
 
read this i wrote in red. look at hardvare devices summary, look at vid pid value and you'll know everything. or, symply connect it reboot box and try!

about application - yes, i know lot of them, but quikpic is lightweight and not demanding app. i tryed many apps, and this one is my favourite. download them, install, try, try skype, and you'll see does or doesn't suit you.

I downgraded in 20120111, and it seems that my box was in an older version before i upgraded in ICS.
I also formated my SDcard.
Now everything works fine.
I can install application with my SDcard mount, and the 1080p display seems to be stable.
I appreciate this new version, with few changes, so now it becomes a good box.
 
I tried to look for vpid but i'm not able to find it. I go with my pc on device mgr, go on my webcamera with right mouse, but cant' see it. Where am i wrong ?

I have a google account and a calendar, but when i launch the calendar application on the atv1000, there's nothing, and i don't find a way to parameter the account.
In the settings, my gmail account is already existing and the synchronization is OK for gmail and picasa but none for calendar.
Is the calendar work on the atv1000 like Geniatech says ?
 
Is anyone having problems watching standard definition avi's with the Geniatech? I've noticed a strange effect on some files which I would imagine is what avirex was talking about here:

It looks like the video is playing in surges of about 1/2 second duration. It is mostly noticeable where the background is moving which would make me think it could be a lack of processing power, but these are not very high bit-rate files and besides, it only happens on certain ones. The files play fine on my PC by the way. I've tried a few different video players and upgraded my firmware from 20111102 to 20120111 but it's still the same. I have uploaded a short clip if anyone wants to download it and take a look.

Hi guys, thank you very much for your efforts in doing Geniatech box better. I have a Geniatech ATV 310 with Android ICS, and I want to add another boot logo image (replace the green android), so I changed logo.img file, and I tried to repack the update.zip with update-packager. So I followed the steps, i removed those 3 files from META-INF folder, and I repacked and signed the new files. I restart my Geniatech box and put the sd-card inside with update.img file. After that, it tells me :

Finding update package...
Opening update package ...
Verifying update package...
E: signature verification failed​


What am I doing wrong?

I have just received ATV4000 with remote mouse (Wii type) and upgraded it to update20120420 and must say that Android 2.3.4 from factory was the best so far. The ICS upgrade has builtin TV tuner app install issues. I will revert to 2.3.4. Will keep you posted on any changes. Great forum and contributors.

first, please, do not write two posts one after another. compile them in one post.

power consumption?! omg... only for wtitting that message your pc consumed more power than box will consume for whole day.

about calendar - in settings of calendar select google calendar.
