Geniatech Enjoy TV

I have plugged in a bluetooth dongle to my ATV2000 (updated to 20120730) and the light has come on but I can't find out how to enable it.

I'm trying to find a wii remote in MD.emu but it says 'bluetooth not accessible'.
Hi Daisy606, latest update20120730 has not bluetooth support, so you can't find any option to make it working.
You should install previous firmwares as: update20120420 (ICS) or update20120606 (GB)
which, both of them, support bluetooth connection.
I have tested, successfully, a bluetooth dongle "made in china" (not branded) and, installing
Bluetooth File Transfer.apk from Play Store, I was able to connect my phone to ATV1000.
This is my BT dongle: bluetooth usb dongle.png
Be careful that, not all BT dongles work but only those ones which have also specific drivers for linux/android.

The device is now rooted and running ICS4.02 (no Idea how it got rooted, does ICS do that by default?).

Many thanks again.
Roobarb.

The unit was probably already rooted as purchased as the ATV and its clones were.

The various updates from Frodo through GB and ICS also root the units (or re-root them)

MyGica at MyGica Enjoy TV productos para Television Digital | Android TV | Smartv | WebTv | Multimedia has a suite of downloads for both GB and ICS as well as the HiDTV for GB and ICS.

The most current are for:

  • Manual to show how to install ICS and GB
  • ICS Version 20120529 for ATV 1000, 2000 and clones (webcam, tdt and CVBS not working)
  • HiDTV Version 1.9.8 for ICS 20120730
  • ICS Version 20120730 for MI units ATV 1000, 2000 and clones (CVBS not working but TDT. Bluetooth are OK)
  • ICS Version 20120730 for M3 units ATV 310B, 3000B and clones (CVBS not working but TDT. Bluetooth are OK)
  • ICS Version 20120730 for M1 units ATV 4000 and clones (CVBS not working but TDT. Bluetooth are OK)
  • GB BETA version 20120730 for M1 units ATV 4000 and clones with internal tuner

roobarb, FYI, ICS is still in some kind of beta-phase or pre-release. there is no guarantie that all will work. and, on the other hand, ICS is "hungry" for resources, and it is problematic to work on 512mb of ram. so, no need to be surprised!

Now running ICS.
My media player has 512 MB RAM & 2GB Flash memory, 32 GB micro SD card.
It is struggling to play music (poweramp, but I like it).
Any suggestions for an uprgrade or a better player?
Could buy a better box.

Thanks.
roobarb.

really do not know what to say. i'm using preinstalled player for music and do not tryed nothing else.

better box is solution, but this one still could give some joy. imho, ICS is too needy for 512mb ram. try to revert to GB and then try that music player. it's great chance that it will play ok.

Even if, regarding latest update20120730, Mygica writes bluetooth ok
ICS Version 20120730 for MI units ATV 1000, 2000 and clones (CVBS not working but TDT. Bluetooth are OK)
instead, also their rebranded firmware has not bluetooth support (just tested).

ATV is part of a Geniatech brand name such as ATV500 Enjoy TV Nano2 or ATV100 Enjoy TV Stick. Perhaps it stands for Android TV, I do not knowhttp://www.geniatech.com/pa/atv500.asp

Hi gio,

Have you tried bluetooth handsfree?
I got one also, it can be switched on, paired, but cannot transfer audio to the handsfree or controlled by handsfree
(possibly due to it hardcoded the audio to the hdmi + RCA output)

and tried bt apple trackpad, it can move, but cant detect "clicked" event :p

Hi heeae, at this moment my only tests are limited to my cellular and pc
(file transfer between ATV1000 and both of them).
I can't tell you anymore regarding to other devices...
If I can test more bt devices, I will write here in the forum ;)

Want to point out that all latest updates comes fully rooted and uses a SU from geniatech wich can't be upgraded to standard superuser.

Hope this helps pointing out the root in latest instalements. ;)

I'm runnig 20120730 ,sudenly I've lost "Turn off- Reboot" can somebody said me if theres is anyway to recover this option
Thanks in advance

I got my hands on an ATV100 the HDMI stick using 8726-M3 chipset, but I'm running into a few problems if anyone can help.

When I try to update the firmware, the Android update program sees the img/zip files, and says the system will reboot now and begin the update... only it doesn't the system powers off every time with no reboot into firmware update stage.

There's no apparent reset button on the device to force the firmware update, I might have to take it apart to see if there is.

Lastly the build of Android [V1.03.01MC03_20120712] that's runs on it is super slow, tiny apps take 10-20 minutes to install. I'm hoping the newer updateM3_4.0_20120726 firmware for M3 boxes can address this if only I could install it.

If anyone has an idea on how to force an update on these sticks I'd be happy to hear it.

Edit: Took it apart, there are some clips holding it together on both sides once they are popped out there are two screws holding it to the bottom half.

Unfortunately no reset button that I could see.

It definitely is an 8726-M3.

However the HiDTV is not performing for me. No audio except for a short initial burst.

Where are you from? THIS HiDTV works ok in UK

I agree with Enviro8. I am running the 20120730 ICS firmware with HiDTV 1.9.8 and on both 1080p and 720p (using HDMI output) I get no audio after a short burst and also I get a black screen which I can't exit from....have to reboot.

Apart from that the firmware is ok and seems to be quite smooth and reasonably fast - almost as fast as gingerbread. I also installed the XBMC media centre software (xbmc-XIOS-073012.apk) and this runs well. No problems with audio sync.

If we can just get the HiDTV running it would be perfect.

I live in Australia

HiDTV worked very well with GB.

Further experimentation shows that if I leave it on for a long time, the audio eventually starts up but if I change stations it stops and I have to wait several minutes for it to restart.

In addition, unless I reboot, I have a continuing audio problem with other on line audio

Any suggestions?

At this point I would just wait for the ATV 1200 or ATV 1600 to come out (sometime in July?) with the duo core processor.

Does anyone know if there are going to be any linux builds out there for this line up?

I have a Rikomagic 802MKII and wish it was a bit snappier on the web browsing under Lubuntu. FF on android, interestingly enough, doesn't support click / drag (that I can find) on HTML elements.

Is the 1200 available for purchase?

Thx.

Not yet, but should be possible.

AML 8726-MX boxes are slowly starting to appear on OEM sites, but I'd lobby the likes of Miniland or Rikomagic instead to sell one as their own so they can build a proper linux OS for it.

Allwinner have proven to be not very helpful when it comes to accessing their VPU under linux for media decoding whereas Amlogic have enabled access so that's one way to pitch it to them.

I have a new question!

Is there any way to view flash embedded websites? i.e. RTE Player

It keeps telling me to update to the latest version even though I have the latest version.

TIA.

Flash is dead on Android, no more updates. So websites that use Flash wont work any more as they request newer versions.

The only way forward for those sites are to
1) Provide an Android app to access the site which RTE don't do only for Apple iOS.
2) Switch over to HTML5 video.

I would suggest looking at XBMC on the box with Navi-X plugin, it's pretty mess to set up but Navi-X provides access to catch up TV sites.

One more thing you can try is www.rte.ie/playerxl/ that seems to support older versions of Flash so that might work for you.

1.Install MediaCenter-20120724.apk on Geniatech M3 box(current firmware is 20120726), then restart the box and run it.
2.Install other DLNA app on android phone or tablet, such as iMediashare Lite, search Local network.
3.iMediashare will find all media files from android devices and shared PC within the network. push the contents to play on Geniatech M3 box.
For example, when you choose one video in iMediashare, it will ask you to choose device to play, select AML-Intel-DRM, this is Geniatech M3 box. then, M3 box will play the video.
4.Search remote player in media center application, you can find and play contents from android phone/tablet or shared PC on box directly.

I have noticed that Geniatech website have recently posted latest update20120730.
I tried it out on atv2000, Total waste of time. Almost everything was working fine with 2.3 GB now with update most apps stop working if they work at all.
Installed google chrome browser and that doesnt work, it wasnt available on 2.3.
So back to more time wasting and go back to 2.3 and reinstall backed up apps.
If it aint broke dont fix!
