Geniatech Enjoy TV

according to the spec on the ATV510,

it says "ARM CORTEX A9, frequency is 800MHz,RAM is 1G,built in 2G~32G flash memory(optional)

Flash memory(optional) how is this upgradable, and would it make a differance to it.

Hello okey.
I have a 510b, upgraded to 32GB.
The upgrade is just the micro SD card, you can store .apk's, restore files, also music/photo's/films etc.
I do not think the memory is used for actual permormance.

GB? Don't know this version or OS system. Is this designed to work on ATV1000?

GB is shorthand for Gingerbread Android 2.3 OS.

ICS is shorthand for Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 OS.

JB is shorthand for Jelly Bean Android 4.1 OS.

GB and ICS are are available for the ATV1000 though it was originally designed for GB so ICS runs a bit slow on it. JB is not possible you need 1GB of RAM and JB is only on the new dual core players from Geniatech like the ATV120 and ATV1200/1600.

What's the latest version in GB? Is it 2.3.4? Where do I get it?

I used to have v2.3.4 (original device version) & then I've updated to ICS my Cams didn't work on this version, now I want to go back to 2.3.4 to see if my cams work, also I want it rooted.

OMG!!! is it SO hard to look at sticky and read few pages back to find full links to firmware!??!

altough, NHF, if you do not know what GB is, than downgrade could be potentionaly dangerous for you. there is catch with keyboard, you need wireless kb and/or mouse, because during changing firmware often is happening that original keyboard doesn't work. and than :hmmmm:

Hello Folks.
I am using Android 4.02 and connecting 2x2TB HDD's to it.
The drives are alwas labeled as mnt/sda1/ or mnt/sdb1/.
Depending on which order I connect them, the label will change for each drive.
When the drives are connected to a Windows 7 laptop, the drives are called (my choice) primary and secondary, that never changes, even with a different drive letter.
Is there any way of labeling the drives in the same way in Android?

imho - not. it's just a linux based system and linux-based way of labeling drives.

Had another thought.
The Windows 7 based laptop is actualy a dual-boot setup - Linux Ubuntu 11.05 (natty narwhal).
If anyone has experience of Ubuntu/Linux, could I rename the drive labels using this?

Thanks again.

Hi all, I have prepared a modded version of latest 20120730 ICS release.

These are the changes:

-disabled line "persist.sys.gsm.numeric=310260" in build.prop
(for automatic access to your own Play Store)

-added the app "Market Unlocker", working beside to inbuilt "Play Store setting" functionality
(no need to reboot and more customized markets)

-installed previous YouTube v3.5.5, best "panoramic" YouTube version
(don't upgrade this app, in Play Store...latest YouTube v.4.0.23 doesn't work for our device)

-removed SPI upgrade

-added some system and media apps (Android System Info, App Control, Facebook, Tunein, Tvdream)

-removed some apps (Angry Birds, Google+, Messenger+, Kindle)

Rename the file to update.img and install as usual (in recovery mode) or, if you are under ICS,
without renaming, use the inbuilt "Upgrade" app.

you can try but as far i know, and for this time i'm using linux, there are always sda1, sdb1 and so on. even you rename it as "system", "media", etc, in explorer they will be named as you want, or as they named in moment of first formatting, but in programs for partitioning and other system tools primary they will be shown as "sda","sdb"....
you can try to rename it, nothing will happen. only must take a great attention to select rename only. not format and rename!

You get whatever was functioning under original 20120730.

WebCam (Microsoft LifeCam VX-800) stills doesn't work in this version
.
I think its got a bug when using the mouse or remote mouse you get a big black screen with the green alien in the middle (boot screen) that moves along with the mouse & you can't click anywhere on the screen to select an appl. This is the second time I saw this in another OS version.

Try ICS. GB will not run.

Code:
[COLOR=Red]Black screen issue ([B]Only applies to GingerBread / 2.3[/B]):[/COLOR]
If you run XBMC and android 2.3, only receive a black screen but sounds are coming through or you don't receive an immediate crash, you suffer from this problem. If your device is not on the list below, please PM me a logcat and your device make and model number.

Is it patched to make your system rooted?
All Geniatech released firmwares are rooted by default (no patches are needed).

Are you using busybox and/or SU from the market ? this is a known issue when the default busybox is not used.

Yes using busybox, SU? is this superuser appl or the small command for dos? if so yes for superuser appl.

Is that DVB only ?! is there any way to get the Geniatech/Mygica A680B USB HDTV Tuner to work on ICS and ATV1000 ?

Just got feedback from geniatech, there is no way to get the USB ATSC tuner to work with Android, I guess that nikki guy was just feeding us lies earlier to get sales to his website

Regardless the rep said they will see if it can be added in the next release.
