Geniatech Enjoy TV

Has anyone in Australia been able to get HiDTV Version 1.9.8 for ICS 4.0 working with update 20120730 M1 4.0?

I have found that the video is good by the audio limps in for a second or so then goes into stuttering mode for a few seconds then stops. After several minutes the audio starts up, but on changing the channel the audio process starts again until it eventually restarts.

The problem persists, however, when I exit the HiDTV apk and open other audio/visual apks such as You Tube, Veetle, TuneInRadio. etc. The audio does the same thing as it does with HiDTV apk.

Restarting does not necessarily fully restore the audio function and I have to fully reboot from Recovery.

The HiDTV audio problem previously occurred with earlier versions when using GB that was eventually cured with version 1.9.8 for Android version 2.3 (GB).

There would appear to be a programming error or fault for the Australia setup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do I send a new post here? I don't see any "send new post" command in any menu. I just want to send a new post about my device shown in left hand side info about me.

Hi crew,

Zulu from droidmote sent me this way.. from that othersite..:p
I have downloaded a few of the roms you are using and pulled them apart but cant seem to find the little bugger of a file.. so the question is.. anyone using droidmote and can you post your "uniput.ko" for me to try..

M1 media box Board,

Zulu's comments to me..
Your device is not an a10 allwinner. you can't use the uinput posted in this forum.
But your board is M1 media box Board the same of many Geniatech products.
http://androidforums.com/google-tv/www.....geniatech.com /pa /android-tv.asp

If i remeber well Geniatech made many update for this type of devices, and from request of same users there is a firmware with uinput inside.
Try to googling around this device.

Try to search a Geniatech rom compatible also with your device.

If you want the source code of the kernel i think this board have an amlogic cpu. in the previous post i liked a link for the source.

if i have other informations or the module just compiled i share it with all.
look this:

Cant post links yet...

Thanks in advance..

dgcruzing Good to hear you like it, is great, been using my cellphone more than original remote. ;D

With my box, I am using it with my TF 101 as the remote to tv.. Plus having a usb mouse
Makes for almost the perfect setup..
But getting droidmote going would be bonus for playing games and hopefully pinch and zoom.
Now that would be fun..

I have it set up to a hook in into my wifi tethered through my laptop... I.e reverse teether so I can use the full vpn speeds, piped through the windows based vpn as it's much faster then the inbuilt vpn of Android at this stage.. It also gives me a bigger range of gateways to use.. Witopia is the service..
As I live in China and have the GCFW in the way.. But now I can crackle, and hulu, and YouTube until my hearts content... Love it..

Dgcruzing - In case you want a proper dns service, I recomend Us-Unlock.com , their service is great and really proves that it works, plus with only 4.99 usd each month for a full access to almost all american content even on smart tvs, well you can do the numbers, I have been using them for over a year now, never regret of that.

That helps you with your geniatech and asus to access content locked by country like amazon, or others, including Netflix.

Btw, Me too use my TF101 and my Optimus L5 to control everything, even with droidmote as I have the licence buyed for the server.

This is the link to the easy ad hoc work setup..
Take a look at Connectify: http://connectify.me

Still hunting yours guys uinput.ko..

WWX are are you using droidmote on your box..?
If so could you upload your uinput.ko to drop box or somewhere in can pull it down.
Have a look in folders.... system/vendor/modules or /vendor/modules...
I pulled the modded roms down and looked inside but couldn't find one..
How many of you using droidmote.?

I can't get Internet TV working in some overseas channels especially scrambled ones it scrambles the whole screen on my device, exiting the software doesn't help although it does exit but screen stays scrambled I had to reset the device to get the screen back to normal.
Is there a way to stop the screen from scrambling from scrambled tv programs?

Most of TV Channels I don't get sound or software freezes up or crashes on my device.
Tried the web sites ones but a few of them ask me to install the player to make it play but I don't think the player will work on this device.
I was looking for a device to watch internet TV on my big TV not on my computer.

Which device you have from Geniatech?

Thought this might interest a few gamers, a link i found in my hunt for the controller file..

Phonejoy users:

Two weeks ago, an app specifically for pairing Phonejoy bluetooth controllers was released. The app has a more user-friendly interface, and is much better than Bluez IME.

You can download the app here: http://www.phonejoy.us/new-phonejoy-android-app-beta-release-v1-0-3-23/

I'm using this app these days and now I can play perfectly fine with two Phonejoy controllers. Now it's very easy to pair controllers and use them.

I think you need to provide a bit more details..like..
Box number.
Country using it in.
Software version.
Your internet speeds..
Can you can watch streaming tv on other android devices you have like a phone or pad..

Like i have said with mine..I am in China so I have to use a lot of programs through vpn..but i still get good streams as i have a good internet connection and router setup..
I will post some test programs that you can use..and see if you can work backwards to see why you can't get anything..
If its a software problem...then maybe a reset or a cache clean might solve it..
or if you have the knowledge you could replace the flash file..
I did see an update on Geniatech website these past days..

S9,
Sounds like a flash problem..
I won't be home for a few hours so can't give you too much to work with at the moment..
Does YouTube work?
Actually, as i am Australian living and working in China that's why i grabbed one as i am always looking for more tv..
Look for SBS world news app on market and test...as it works me me with out vpn up here..
Also RT NEWS..its a English Russian news app..but should work..
Others are Vimeo,
PPTV..its Chinese but hit any of the programs that come up and they should play..as its a flash based player..
As as thought you may have to update your video codec..I generally use mxplayer with there codec...
See how you go..

YouTube crashes even re-installing it.
I'm not really interest in the News more interested in the shows around the world.
Vimeo works but need to pay to use it.
My Mobile seems to be faster than my M1 Media Box in data transfer, I get audio I get video but M1 Media box lacks in audio in some channels video is slow or freezes up I can't understand it should be faster than my mobile its running on cable.
Does MXPlayer have internet TV? I though it just a player to play movies, I don't have problems playing movies.

The main reason I was getting you to look at the news was to test the throughput of your internet connection..
You say you got cable...but what have you got it plugged into? i,.e I am guessing you are using a wireless router..
As I suspect you are not running the Ethernet connection..if so..therefore you need to look back to the wireless router..
I am running with a Asus RT-N56U..reason being I can setup samba USB drives and go in to settings and have allocation for streaming TV..
I am thinking you need to run speed tests.. check the speeds on wireless you are getting with your phone and that of your box..
Compare them using speed test app.
You might have a faulty wireless chip,..can happen..
Also as a note...my supplier told me not to upgrade YouTube.. and I haven't had time to play with it yet...
As I actually want too...so I suggest going back to the version you had..rip that out of them firmware available in this thread..and install..
Note.. I have a shitty internet connection.. I am on the 42 floor of a 46 floor building..so its only asdl+.. I am am suppose to be on the 2gb plan..
So even on my laptop late at night I am lucky to get 500-600kb download speeds..
So with saying this..at 7-12pm...peak times..(gamers,p2p TV..) I am able to use vpn and stream radio or TV feeds from the US,UK,Aus..
In saying that...if you can't run SBS app streaming from with in aus...then you have to have a look at either you connection or your hardware..
As it runs sweet to me here in china.
Also...you might have gathered from reading...lots of apps are localized..ie..if you IP is not with in its broadcast range..you won't get it..
Thus vpn is your friend...try droidvpn as a starter to see if its something you need..but as said..you need to sort out your streaming first.

I bought 2 of these ATV310 boxes and both of them have Wi-Fi issues. My ATV1000 never had this much trouble with Wi-Fi. Sometimes it would take a few tries to connect (it would take long at Obtaining IP Address) but never had speed issues. On the ATV310 I'm finally getting connected but only getting download speeds of 200-500Kbps (my internet is 10Mbps)!

Does anyone else have problems with the ATV310 (Nano) box and Wireless "N" routers? I expect the signal to be a little bit weaker because it does not have external antenna. But not this bad. Does it have the same wireless chipset as the ATV1000 or different?

I am using the Android 2.3 20120606 M1 firmware.

Thanks for your help.

Yes I am using wireless router for sharing other wireless device, I've just remember I have "Powerline AV Network Adapter" connected to the Android Box thats were the problem is so slow, bought it because my wireless signal is weak in that room, we got a big house & almost half of the house is made of concrete, basically I need to get a longer distance wireless router or something, I am using "Asus RT-N16" wireless router with third party firmware "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) std-usb-ftp"

Mobile speed (wireless) = 17.15 Mbps
Mobile Speed (vodaphone) = 3.42 Mbps (not constant sometimes drops)

If you can..try running the Ethernet direct to the box..it will help with speeds..I know its a pain..but its cheap enough now a days..

The one thing to remember with that is ...and i think it will be the same in your firmware..is to turn Ethernet on..little toggle top right in Ethernet settings, as i was playing with mine and was not getting connection and was wondering why it didn't auto start after turning off wireless and plugging in the Ethernet cord..

Also if you go Ethernet..remember some programs in android are only programmed to look for a wireless connection, this is in the api level so there is not much you can do about those apps..some run, some don't..

Otherwise, its looking like a different repeater setup on your wireless network..
