How many contacts do you have on google?
The delay stems from dragon dictation analyzing all of your contacts.
I only have a dozen contacts in Google and it still created a really annoying lag. I'll bet her contacts are T-Mobile or stored locally...

Strictly Google. I don't even try to sync to T-Mobile as it doesn't even works and tries forever. Not to the phone either. I have maybe 90 contacts or so.
