I am very happy with the Mountek. Much smaller that a lot of the ones mentioned in this thread and the build quality is excellent.

i got Xenomix SHG-S5000. im very happy with it! really easy to install and detach - using a lever instead of a knob. i love the one hand operation - phone goes in and out with one hand easily! up, down and rotating function is also great to have when those times you just need the phone tilted right! 
the mount can also be installed either way - the lever on top or the lever at the bottom. whatever is ideal for you!
i highly recommend it for people looking for a non dash/windshield mount that rotates and is universal (motorola x phone/nexus 5 anyone?)! it came with 3 cd slot adapters but i just use it 'as is' on my subaru forester '10. also, it doesn't block the charging and audio ports.
ordered 2/27 from ebay, shipped 3/04 & delivered 3/14! nicely packaged and arrived within etd! yey!

it does on mine! i installed it with a cd inside and played the cd. ....so i would say yes, 99% of the time. depends on your cd player (if it happens to be really shallow).
I hadn't seen these mounts that fit in a CD slot before. I have never got on with the dashboard ones (they always move) and don't like the idea of the windscreen ones so these look like an ideal solution. I notice that the Mountek one has an additional "foot" under the phone and the Xenomix one doesn't - other that does anyone have an opinion which is better. Thanks.
i'd say the xenomix would be a better buy over the mountek esp if you dont mind the shipping wait. the price is about the same.
i dont own the mountek but watching a review on youtube i might be able to differentiate it. ...and since someone asked i might as well share it here. again, these are just my opinion. ymmv. the lever (xenomix) beats the knob (mountek) easily. *easier to attach and detach. the grip (sides that hold the phone) is more universal as it has smaller/lesser contact points than the mountek. the cradle/"foot" below the mountek might present some problem for future/other phones although i've read it can be detach. but then if u didn't place the phone firmly, the phone might fall off (the xenomix doesn't have that problem. it securely holds it). im sure both will hold a phone firmly in place but i prefer the xenomix silent, easy one-hand operation over the 2 finger operation (to hold the phone in place); push a button at the back (to release the phone). to me this is cumbersome. not to mention the ratcheting noise it produces. also, i've owned mounts with this ratcheting clamping operation and they become useless over time. it doesn't move/'rachets' properly anymore and i have to 'help' it to open so i can place my phone. i believe this might also be true with the mountek as it has the same parts/operation. again this is just my opinion and maybe it was just time for my old cheapo mount to give up. another thing, xenomix has a smaller footprint than the mountek (comparing/based from youtube vids). all in all, i highly recommend the xenomix cd slot mount.
im not sure. but as of right now, my subaru forester '10 oem cd slot looks and works fine. i guess it depends on how you (ab)use it!
Well, I'll have a go - I'll borrow OH's S2 to video and use my nexus in the holder. Will be a good test of the one handed operation!

We have a Mountek since wife and I have two different phones. Works great (we took the bottom part off so it's more versatile) but that Xenomax looks sweet. Far more variable in where you can angle it.
Don't think we've tried putting in a CD while using it though (who plays CDs anyway?

Hi...yes my mount arrived really quickly...unfortunately it arrived on the day we went on holiday and we've only just got back so I haven't really had a chance to play with it much. First impressions are good. Because of the slope of my dash I have to use it "upside down" so glad there is that option. I'll try to take a video soon. It is really well made and feels good and firm.

I still say try the spiderpodium, its literally very flexible and you can mount it anywhere where you can hang it
