i never been to Europe and let alone in Germany. those are some cool photos of subway stations. can you still ride those during the pandemic?

If it's futuristic modern subways you want? We have a lot of them all over China. Like the Jinan Metro, which is operational, but still been built.

And I do have a lot of pictures of futuristic subways been built.

Really?

Apart from the improved lighting it doesn't look much different to the London Underground in the 1930s.

So the Essen Subway doesn't have things like platform doors, for passenger safety?

No because the people look at each other

Ha, yeh right

Have you ever seen an Asian subway in full rush hour, like Tokyo or Beijing? They installed platform screen doors, basically to save lives, to avoid the risks of people been pushed in front of subway trains due to crowd crushes.

It's clean and modern, but I'd not say "futuristic". Unless you are comparing it with the New York subway, much of which feels to me like it's not had any investment since the 1970s - compared to that a fresh coat of paint feels futuristic ;).

Personally I prefer some of Stockholm's subway stations with the raw rock walls:

(stock photo, as I can't be bothered to dig through my own to find one).

But yes, I like Germany a lot :)

Another video from the subway.

Whitch subways do you also know? Valencia?

I love Valencia it is my favourite city in Spain

The Subway in Helsinki is also nice

Subways I know to some extent include London, Paris, Hamburg, Stockholm, Copenhagen, New York, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro - there are probably one or two I've forgotten, e.g. I'm certain I've used the Rome and Madrid Metros in the last decade but don't have particular memories of them.

Regrettably, though I've visited Glasgow a fair few times I've never ridden their subway, known locally as the "clockwork orange".
