Help Get Froyo Downloaded... but can't get it "upgraded"

Lurker
I'm fairly new here and was wondering if someone with more knowledge than myself could possibly help me. I've been trying all morning to download and upgrade Froyo for my Vibrant through kies mini. It took me awhile before finding out I had to use the TW Launcher to get it working, but after that I got it to download just fine. After it downloads thru kies, my phone gets this little warning sign that says "downloading, do not turn off target!!!" and has a "men at work" kinda symbol with the little android dude shoveling some stuff. And on kies it says it's starting to "upgrade", but after a minute or so of it sitting there doing nothing it goes to another screen that says:

"Result
SGH-T959 could not be upgraded.
1. Detach and reattach the mobile phone's battery.
2. Reboot the mobile phone, and then try the upgrade again.
*if the Mobile phone fails to reboot, please use "mobile phone emergency recovery".

I am able to reboot the phone, I took the battery out after shutting it down and tried again, got it downloaded and the same thing happened again.

I'm at a loss for what to do now. Can anyone please help me?

Thank you in advance!

hey whats up, have you try to upgrade it by "Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant Flashing tutorial Part 1", it is a video in youtube and has 2 parts it is very helpful, but it doesnt download by kies, try it though

i have this issue too -- i have attempted 3 times via win 7 64 bit, then as a last ditch effort i tried on win xp (32 bit)... and it pretty frustrating... i have cellular internet (not thru this handset) so its taking hours to download - and its insisting on re-downloading every time...

any ideas? It's under warranty, not rooted, and i don't want to use the odin method since i think it will void my warranty and my insurance on the phone.

thanks

I feel obligated to let you know that you arent the only one whom has received this message and men at work sign and everything. the difference is that you got very lucky. when I got this message and did the exact same thing as you it actually bricked my phone. and I just got my replacement in the mail about an hour ago. I lost everything from contacts to pictures of my pup that died last year. so i urge you to do your research and be better prepared since I was not. Good luck to you all in your Froyo endeavors! Lata!
