Get Incredible now or wait?

I know the Incredible has been out for a while now. I have an WM HTC Imagio which I got it February 2010 and it lasted 9 months before the screen crapped out. The refurbished replacement got a stuck hard key within 2 weeks. The 2nd refurbished replacement now shuts down once or twice per day automatically. Do you think Verizon will let me upgrade early with the fact that I'll keep getting refurbished Imagio replacements and that WM is now an outdated and no longer supported OS?

For what I need, mostly business use, the Incredible seems to have the specs and can sych with Exchange (might need Touchdown). I don't need a front facing camera and I'm not in a 4G zone, so maybe waiting for the Thunderbolt or Bionic would be overkill. Plus I like the size of the Imagio/Incredible.

Thoughts?

I've found it to be not too challenging to get stuff out of VZW if you call and invest a little time. I'm sure they'll let you get the DI, and they'll work some kind of deal on it regarding your upgrade period.

Sounds like what you are finding what you need in the DI. And if you like the size of the DI, no point in waiting on a diff size phone with other features you don't want/need or can't use. Get the DI. Then upgrade a few launches from now if you deem necessary.

If you wait, you're always going to be waiting. There's always going to be a new phone better than the one you want to get right now.

Having said that, the INC isn't such a new phone at the moment, so this doesn't apply so much. If you like the form factor, get it, as it's the best in that form factor available on Verizon at the moment. If you like the size of something like the Droid X or the EVO, get the Thunderbolt when it comes out (which should hopefully be soon).

Get a DInc. You'll still be held to your original contract anyway so that wont matter. And they sure aren't giving you a phone that just comes out.

ive gone thrgough 7 refurbs. in 5 months... finally they sent me a new battery as i think thats the issue.

Wait for the thunderbolt. It's the successor to the inc, and its bloody beautiful.

Yeah, the Thunderbolt looks nice, but I prefer a more compact phone (the Dinc will fit in my ProClip car holster as it's the same width as the Imagio) and don't need a front facing camera. Plus, I'm assuming Verizon will charge extra for 4g data plan. I'm pretty content on 3g service at $30 per month for now.

Ordered the Incredible! Verizon let me upgrade early (11 months with) after two defective Imagio's. They were going to replace it with a Samsung Omnia II since they had to stay within the same OS, but being that the Imagio was the 'top' WM phone, Verizon couldn't downgrade me to an Omnia.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll be on this forum regulary now.

Honestly, I think the only phone I've seen I MIGHT wait for at this point would be the Moto Bionic.

ya same here. the incs a great phone. if was to walk in to Verizon today and get a phone it would be this one and i've had mine since launch. the thunderbolt looks good but it looks like an evo more then a inc.
