Getting around NFC security

Before you ask: I'm only interested in doing this for my OWN phone

I bought some NFC tags before I knew that in order to use them the phone had to be out of standby and unlocked. This is a completely reasonable security measure, and I understand why they did it.

That said, can I get around it? How about with root?

I don't have any plans to use Google Wallet, and I really doubt someone will know to try my insecure phone for NFC intrusion, and the advantages would be great for me. I get in and out of my car all day, sometimes as many as 10-12 times, and it would be SO nice if I could just tap my phone to one of my tags and have my music start or stop playing.

I've looked into doing this via other methods like Tasker and things like that, but this really is the best solution for me. If it's not possible, though, so be it. But if it is, I'd like to know!

It'd only be possible if you could get a developer to modify the service. The polling loop for NFC only turns on when the phone is unlocked, and there's nothing that can be done to change that without a code change.

You could try contacting a ROM developer.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Oh well, I'll try to think of something else.

Really, what I want more than any of this stuff, is for there to be a bluetooth remote control that can operate my phone. There's plenty of headsets with AVCRP protocols, but I haven't seen any just plain remotes. Oh well, maybe my next car will finally have A2DP and controls. Oh well...
