Root Getting Google Play to work again.

I first off want to thank everyone who provides tips, fixes and support in this forum. It has really given me some great information!!!

Now on to my problem. I flashed my Triumph and installed CyanogenMod 7. Everything works great and the phone performs with speeds I never thought possible. The problem is I cannot get Google Play to work. I installed it but when it asks to add an account, I click yes and then the phone just goes back to the home page. In other words, I cannot use it.

I have my apps backed up using Titanium Backup (I have both System and Apps back up and just the apps backup) and the suggested backup described in that thread (I cannot remember the name ), so I have 2 backups. I cannot use the Titanium backup because I cannot get the app. All sites send me back to Google Play to get the app. I have been able to download and install a few apps from other sites but several app installs refer back to Google Play to install it.

I am either missing something or I screwed something up. I apologize if this has been addressed before, I did search for an answer but the answers I could find were not for the same problem I am having.

I will keep plugging along, installing what I can and any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

yea what seanette said when u flashed cm7 did u follow the next step and flash gapps. if not go back and flash gapps

That did it!! Thank you guys, we're cooking with gas now :D. I appreciate your patience with a beginner/noob. I hesitated doing this but I canceled my Facebook account and my phone asked me to accept Facebooks agreement every day. I was about to throw it in the river!!!

I've been the noob (still am in a lot of ways), so you can count on "been there done that" sympathy over here. Also virtual cookies if you want them. ;)

I guess it's all part of learning new things. I love this phone especially after I decided to eliminate the bloatware and for $40 a month. Too bad Virgin Mobile had to implement a data cap. Though, I rarely come close to that cap.

Again, thanks a million!!!
