getting my ducks in a row

Ah if your tethered you can not access your phone, you have to disconnect and then try accessing the market

ive got internet not a problem there i use opera mini and it loaded the ney york times web site a site that i have never been to so not cached...also like i said before i am tethered to my laptop RIGHT now thats how im replying quickly....im sorry i know this has got to be a PITA, hell it is for me lol

i know u said u dont have time to walkthrough it now but if you are on at 11:30 pm eastern time i will be off work by then or even tomorrow i meani have complete use of my phone just cant flash anything

Go to the market and update RM, it is outdated to start with should be version 2.5.1.3

Wow, I bet that is why ClockworkMod Recovery would never install for me. I had an older version too.

I just updated it to the latest and greatest. I will see if I can flash ClockworkMod Recovery later, but I think I might still just use Amon RA as my daily driver recovery.

ok it flashed it that time i tried it like that the very first time and it still didnt work then...BUT ITS WORKING NOW

ok so now i got gapps and aos 9.9 on my SD just move them to the rot dir and then boot to recovery nandroid back up wipe the folders flash the aos zip and then how do i get the gapps on it

OK now before you load any Roms, make sure you do a Nandroid back up, and try doing that from recovery and not the RM app itself

OK, now boot into recovery, Power off the phone, then once off, hold the Volume down and the end key at the same time for a few seconds, then once the screen is up, hit the home key to be into recovery, then scroll to Nandroid and make a fresh back up, once done, then your going to do a wipe FR/Data, Cache, then go to advance and wipe Davlik Cache, let hit the back button, then go to install from SD card, then scroll and find your AOSP 9.9.2 then flash that, once done, then do the same for Gapps from Dec 13 and flash that, once done, then reboot now and wait for the phone to boot up. Report back

OK NP, once you have your Rooted phone set up the way you want with that Rom, make yourself another Nandroid back up and enjoy your new toy, need anything else let us know ;)

Also read from Andy, if you want it even better, put your phone in airplane mode while playing will be even better ;)

ok cool it seems great now angrybirds doesnt lag like a mofo anymore so thats awsome

710 MHz is a good place to start anyway. Even the 691 MHz that is default by CyanogenMod 6.1 is fine. ;)

I will probably mess with overclocking after I get more acclimated with the ROMs I am trying. One has to start somewhere. :D

Another nice little program for you is Spare Parts, go to it and in the General tab, hit the Window Animation and change that to Fast and then do the same for Transition Animation ;)

What does changing the animation to fast really do besides make it faster? I think the animations on stock Android 2.1 with Sense UI for our handsets were turned off.

I actually never messed with the animations. I thought maybe it would waste the battery with them turned on.
