Getting rezound as replacement for tbolt... Will we be getting jellybean?

Ok vzw will be replacing my thunderbolt with a rezound.... I know ice will be out this month to vzw then up to 90 days for vzw testing.... But will we be getting jellybean.... I hope so.... I would miss having that butter interface...

and theirin lies the issue with the 18 month update policy. Google only releases an update about every 12 months... Thus the 18th month would mean we would only get ICS which in itself was announced and available even before the device was first sold. So i think that since JB was announced and now available for the nexus galaxy then we should also get it as the phone is not 18 months old and their is zero reason as to this phone not being able to run jelly bean.... its duel core which is what chrome web browser requires, has 1.5ghz cpu, and 1080p screen/video. Just another way for them to rip us off like back in the apache days of the ppc6700 and say you want the update purchase a new device.... updates should be apart of our contracts and included with our cost of service, guaranteed to be updated to latest android versions or they upgrade our device for free... or even if they charged like $9.99 for an update i would pay that prorated into the contract.

Wrong. Every 6 months.

If the 18 month policy holds true, then yes we would be getting JB. Afterall, the Rezound has only been out for 8 months, so there's another 10 months to go.

But jelly bean won't get onto non nexus devices for another year at the earliest as look how long its taken ics to come out like over a year

i thought the last thing i read was that it was too early to make that call. Do you have a link? Not that i really care...i just bought a used Rezound yesterday on ebay to hold me over for about 6 months till some of the new phones are released. I was not impressed enough with the S3 or the INC 4 to commit to 2 years with verizon.

Any phone on the market is so outdated as their are newer phones always under development. We should be able to have beta phones.

WHERE are you getting this information??

ICS was publicly released on October 19, 2011. Non-Nexus devices got it as early as January. Nothing you are stating is adding up!

Ics was announced in summer last year. One year later announced jb... So I can't see jb on this device as.that is then 24 months since announcement as it will take a full year or more for jb to be pushed to phones if at all. I think no new phones on the market expect.for one x and s3 will ne the only lagecy phones to get jb.

ERMERGERD. I'm trying to tell you that you have your information wrong. ICS was announced in OCTOBER of 2011.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich announced - YouTube

Since 3.0, Google has committed to new version of Android roughly every 6 months. See:
Android version history - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I couldn't readily find a Google source, but plenty of website state this: Android 5.0 Jelly Bean - Too much, too soon? Bad for users and developers alike?

Where are YOU getting your information?

Rezound screen is not 1080 ... it is 720p (1280 x 720 resolution)

IMO i think the Rezound will very much see Jelly Bean from VZW. Probably at least 6 months out though. The majority of your top tier devices usually see at least 2 major updates...The DroidX got Froyo and Gingerbread.

I don't see anything that would suggest the Rez wouldn't see ICS and JB.

where is this info coming from?

Its all conjecture, even if VZW said it. Hell THEY don't know. And if they do they aren't telling us :)

That all depends on the carrier. I'd be willing to bet you see JB on SG3 in fairly short order on most carriers

The Incredible got 2.2 and 2.3 as well. I completely agree. GB came for the Incredible 18 months AFTER it was released :)

maybe we should just get ICS on the things before we worry about JB...LOL.;)

True that.... I'm half tempted to shut this thread down till we actually see ICS ;)
