Getting Sprint Friday - questions

First off the rep I talked to (at a kiosk at that haha) was the most knowledgeable person I've talked to about phones in a retail setting so Props to him hah.

Anyways, I live on a mountain and while explaining this to him with the Photon in my hand he told me about a new "thing" (Can't remember what its called lol) that I can hook up to my cable internet that will act as a in house radio tower and I will be able to get full service? Also he said this was free.
So that right there made me want a 3d because mostly I was getting a Photon for the radio :D

?: Does anyone have this "thing"? And if so how well does it work??

Also, he informed me that because I'm switching my phone number (virgin mobile lol) to Sprint I'll receive a $125 credit on my bill.

so if anyone is starting a new pl;an with sprint buy a prepay phone thats hella cheap and get $125 for switching your phone # to sprint :D

EDIT:
Just did some research and the device seems to be called an airave if that helps

I've heard good things about the Airave. Pretty sure the $125 port in credit does not work if coming from Virgin, since their owned by Sprint. May be able to get details here: WWW.Sprint.com/switchtosprint

(i.e., Virgin Mobile USA, Boost Mobile, Common Cents Mobile and Assurance) are excluded
bah, you're right...

but at that price, I may as well get a new line on a cheap prepay service to get the 125 extra haha

Will inform the rep he was wrong tho ... *sadface

also.. you have to have a separate home internet service for the airrave to work.

warning:
although there are many situations where sprint will give a client the airrave for free....
Normally the airrave is not free and the service is not free! you have to have sprint (not that "salesman") to confirm you can have it for free with free service! dont believe everything you hear from a salesperson. better hear it from the horse's mouth before you commit!

Thanks for pointing that put. I got Sprint now and must say I'm in love (;
Got the evo 3d and I'm very happy with this phone. I was worried about people saying that the radio was pretty lame but I live on a mountain and I'm even suprised I can text from my bed.. though it is roaming. Called advanced tech support and the lady signed me up for an airave. She said normally is have to wait 30 days to get on the list but i said I get no service at home unless in roaming, now one is in the mail! Couldn't be more happy with the way this has turned out, and hope I stay as satisfied as I am now. Thanks to all who helped.

Also, the guy who set up my phone did get my number swapped and said i sgould have the $125 credit on my phone bill, and if i didn't to take it to him and he'd help get it on the next one and he's also getting my activation fee dropped!
