Root Getting this phone Sunday...

Any tips/Advice/Must need apps or tweaks? I plan on rooting it. I have an ipod touch 3g at the moment. Im used to that keyboard and interface

my mother is getting it for me as a late xmas gift. Shes gonna pay the $50 a month till i get my job. And my friend has the phone, and im pretty fond of it. And i need a cell phone, the job im going to have is gonna need me to have one. why save my money?

it's a pretty good mid-level phone, i would say get it.

If it's your first android device, you should learn to adapt to Swype. I love it, coming from an iPod 3g, as well. As for apps and all, I don't see much to do with it except for the basics (like Titanium Backup, JuiceDefender, social apps, RingsExtender, etc) since there isn't a custom recovery or custom rom for it yet.
