Help Ghost in the machine

My lovely S2 is having some issues.. For no reason at all it will suddenly do any of the following of its own free will

Go into driving mode
Open voice commands and ask me what I want to do
Go into usb mode and try and connect to a pc when there is no pc attached
Activate kies
Randomly do stuff

I got the phone from Phones4u and have relieved the sae to send it back for repair but as this would mean I would be without an s2 for weeks does anyone have any fixes I could try?

Will my apps be saved on application store when I get my phone back from the repair place?

i'd use appbrain to sync your list of app. this is what I did for my upgrade. If you phone is wiped or replaced you install appbrain and then load your old list up excute list and then press install a bunch of times and all the apps are reloaded.

Setting will not be saved using this though.

I'm new to 2.3.3 but there is a feature on the S2 that says send info to google about wireless and app setting but never seen this work.

There's some strange combination of buttons that triggers voice commands, I froze VC so I don't get that anymore.
