so since this update I have a number of problems. if i set an alarm or basically go into any option menu with a checkbox, tapping on it makes no visibile difference, but it will turn the option on or off. I know cause the alarm will go off if i tap it, but the checkbox doesn't change.

and also, this is probably simple, but i can't seem to get a google search to work simply by typing on the slider. i used to be able to, now i ha ve to go on the internet and search some old fashioned way

this is hardly a solution, however I can at least confirm that neither of these issues are affecting my samsung galaxy s.

maybe you need to reflash the same rom, or just try another one.

Try a simple hard reset.
I had an issue with the google search widget at one point too. I just deleted the widget, restarted the phone, then re-added the widget and all was fixed
