Help Gingerbread 2.3.3

I bought a new Arc yesterday and after reading this post, I checked my Android version. It said 2.3.2. I hit the update key, it went out and checked, and came back and said I have the latest.

What gives???

Did you use the update on the phone?

I used the PC Companion to update mine. (may not be out in your country?)
Also you can use flashtool to flash a ROM from XDA.

Mine says there is an update to 2.3.3 (phone bought in Germany).
Can I have some feedback about the new version? What are the changes/benefits except Facebook integration?

Thanks.

Battery battery life and better touchscreen are the things i've noticed.

Downside is unless you have an unlocked bootloader you can't root (yet)

Anyone been able to update on Orange, UK? Having same issue with Latest Software displayed when updating via phone or PC Companion. 2.3.2 currently on phone.

If you have a branded version from orange then you'll probably have to wait for them to add their logos and whatnot to the new version of the firmware.

Yes I noticed about battery life. Official changelog:

  • Battery performance
  • General software stability
  • Wi-Fi stability
  • HD Video recording performance (Xperia arc)
  • Touch responsiveness
And a Facebook integration - not of any use for me though.
I noticed pretty handy thing - when you receive a message or you have a missed call it will show up on lock screen.

Cheers!
