Honestly the only way I care if we get 2.3 or not is if it brings a native Sense 2.0 UI with it. Otherwise I really couldn't care less, Gingerbread doesn't add enough on top of Froyo for me to sweat it out. I was a part of the Eris to 2.1 wait and ever since then, I've decided that waiting on a newer UI isn't worth caring about.

One of the nice things that 2.3 will do is to not add you as a guest on Google Calendar whenever you add an appointment on your phone. This will resolve many syncing problems.

This solution caused by 2.3 was reported by Google on Google Calendar Known Issues:

I given up waiting for Gingerbread from vzw and since the DINC is now eol, I'M rooting my phone and installing CyanogenMod 7.0.0 to have Gingerbread 2.3.x

Yeah good move we are on 2.3.3 now and I am just eating on a Gb from that has the new since and I will be switching over to that asap

I think I saw that 3.0 is exclusive to like 3 devices. They say the older phones don't have the horsepower to run it.
i am sorry but not enough horsepower ???? BULLL S*** the inc and the thunderbolt have almost identical specs and the thunderbolt is gonna be running 3.0 when they get there update

Don't kill the messenger please. :) I was just passing on what I read. It was the first article of the day on phandroid.

They said that the TB won't be getting it either. Also, much of the UI is GPU accelerated. The GPU in the TB is near 2x as powerful as the one in the Incredible. So even if the TB got more elements of it than the Incredible, there's your reason.

I am hoping a whole new set of roms will come soon after the "official" to get rid of bloat, speed up the phone, leave sense 2.0 intact, etc. I've got 2.3 now (cm7) and it rocks so I'm in no hurry. My only hope is there is a new radio that truly helps reception.

Thanks for the link... I think I'll wait it out a bit and see what more people have to say. I've tried all three radios and it doesn't seem to make a difference in signal or call quality.

Disappointed to see that the new Sense on the Thunderbolt didn't include the HTC Hub, but contained elements of it. Regardless, has anyone heard if the Gingerbread update will bring HTC Hub to America?

i have never herd of this but i can look into it for you

Yup. My sources tell me that it has a new app called "VZW Black Hole." Every hour on the hour it downloads a new piece of bloatware that you cannot remove even via a factory rest.
