Help Gingerbread 2.3

Frankster

Newbie
I here the gingergread 2.3.2 will be out the 5th of July for the Motorola Atrix phone. I have a friend that works for AT&T and that's what she told me. I'll have more news Monday.......

1. It's supposed to be build 2.3.3
2. I work at AT&T aswell and the company has not disclosed that info nor do they even give us that info until the day off.
3. Aside from the previous two points, I hope "your friend" is right and we do get it on July 5th. :D

I also work for at&t and the Motorola rep was in my store this past week and said that for sure the GB update will be out by the end of this month. He said I should be doing a check on my phone daily. We shall see if he was correct.

Does anyone know if 2.3 will allow handsfree bluetooth voice dialing? I'm still furious that I've got this hip, expensive phone and I can't call out in the car unless I use my hands...illegal in MANY states and European countries.

Umm, the phone has built in V-lingo which will do just that.

What bluetooth are you using? My TL has handsfree link, and I call out by pressing a button on the steering wheel and speaking a name...so the phone has the capability if the bluetooth does.

I don't like Vlingo, you have to be looking at the screen and tap it to make selections. I have been using "Voice Commands" which I like much better. It speaks to me thru my bluetooth head set and repeats back what I said. The only thing is, the screen has to be unlocked in order to use the voice commands.

This is what I'm referring to. It defeats the purpose of "handsfree" dialing if you have to unlock the phone while you're driving to get voice commands to work! Does anyone have an update on this being corrected? I've been plugging in my phone while driving and allowing the phone to stay awake during charging. That helps a lot, but it's a stupid hassle!

I'm guessing the problem is your BT headset.

On both 2.2 and 2.3, I'm able to just tap the button on my Jabra headset and tell it to call someone and it works. I don't have to unlock the phone. I don't have to have it plugged in.

This works with BOTH of my Jabra BT headsets.
