Help Gingerbread bricked my phone please help

Hey everyone, Im hoping someone can help. I downloaded the gingerbread update today and when my phone rebooted it sat on the samsung screen for almost 2 hours. I removed the battery and started it again same result. I even tried to go to a factory reset and I dont have the ability to scroll down and select. If I hit the home button all I get is a triangle symbol with an exclamation mark and the android guy. How do I get the phone back to factory? Please help I dont want to go to verizon I know someone here can fix it!

Me too guys. Flashed back to stock DL09 to get my OTA, after hours of updates and finally getting though the GB update released today, phone rebooted fine. I decided to be a good little phone user and reset and stuck in system recovery, Manual Mode (I've never seen this before), and just like @justblinded, pressing home, power and arrows do nothing. Tried to use Odin but I can't even get into download mode. Ugh sooo frustrating!

Same thing happened to me. My warranty expired in OCT. so I thought I was gonna have to pay for a new one, but Verizon said since it's their screw up, they're mailing a new one out tomorrow.

I was finally able to get into download mode so I just flashed stock DL09, which is year-old 2.1. Blah. Better than a semi-bricked phone though. If anyone needs help doing this, send me a private message.

Add mine to the brick list as well. Same issue as OP. I called VZW and raised a stink. They are sending out a replacement.

Mines went into manual Mode to my guess is your phone may have been rooted as mine was, some of you seam to be having trouble using Odin for recovery If your bricked or rooted and want to get back to stock and to the new GB you are going to have to Flash back to eclairupdate 1 and do manul OTA upgrades to get back up to speed, make sure u always use PDA in Odin. I will try to find the website that help me out and post it here!

Fixed mine the easy way. I bitched to VZW support and made them send me a warranty replacement. Works great now and I successfully installed GB on the replacement.
