gingerbread for desire HD ????

[kbk27]

hi
minimum hardware requirement for 2.3 is 1280

[The Hoff]

That's tablet specs, there's not a single phone on the market with those specs. Yes, the Dhd will get 2.3

Do you have a source to support this statement please?

Minimum specs for Ginerbread havn't been released yet, but I would have thought it will at least run on all the top end phones from the last year...

[THE ANDROID]

The requirements released are not minimum but recommended for FroYo. No phone supports that high of a res anyway. It just adds tablet support.

I heard Android 3.0 adds tablet support, 2.3 is nothing more than a simple update to 2.2.

[RED_]

2.3 = Gingerbread
3.0/3.1 = Honeycomb

The Desire HD is easily capable of handling gingerbread. Probably the most powerful phone on the market at the moment.
