gingerbread keyboard

I need help with the new gingerbread keyboard.
As I read some post on here, you are able to bring up the word prediction on the keyboard. Mine at the moment does not do that. I also noticed that the space bar turns Orange or highlighted in that color and when it is,that is when it does the word predictions. (if I'm correct on that.)
So could any one be of assistance .

I had the same problem, and someone else said to try this (facelykemurder) so let me give credit to them for this. It worked for me. Just don't forget to set it as your default keyboard. That took me a moment to remember I can do it in texting mode and changing input mode. Didn't seem to set it as default keyboard in regular settings mode.

There are a ton of great keyboards out there in the Android Market as well as other places ....with that being said, I am a huge fan of smartkeyboard pro. Great skins, and fast. Just my 2 cents.

I've actually been recommending the GO Keyboard by the GO Dev Team to a lot of folks in my market. I've had a lot of positive feedback, and the customization is quite nice. Just my $0.02 though.

I love the Lin GB keyboard mentioned above. I use that for longer entries, and Swype for shorter messages.
